Reports To General Manager General Description Responsible for providing innovative direction and support in all aspects of the aquatics operation.  The Director will be the Junior Head Swim Coach, Supervise both Swim Lessons & Lifeguard operations as well oversee the Master Swim Program.  Responsibilities and Duties Head Coach, Gold River Stingrays Recruit, train, schedule and supervise swim team staff. Support the organization in planning, budgeting, promotion and evaluation of all swim team activity. Oversee the control and safety of the pool during clinics, practices and meets. Assist in the scheduling of the pool for clinics, practices and meets. Provide innovative practice and workout content including written practice plans, instruction in all four competitive strokes, starts, turns and touches and the use of drills and stroke correction in every opportunity. Foster sportsmanship, camaraderie and a positive work ethic in every swimmer. Be present at all practices, meets and team events. Administer the seeding and scheduling of swimmers for meets. Maintain attendance records. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with the parent advisory board monthly and weekly with the club manager and team representatives. Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Assistant or 2 years as a Head Swim Coach Registered USA Swimming Coach Positive experience within the aquatics industry. Experience in management, ability to provide clear direction to employees and highly organized WSI and CPR/AED certifications. Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent. Compensation The Aquatics Director is a full time hourly position (30 hours per week) plus private swim lessons.  Hourly rate will be based on experience.  This position is eligible for benefits including health, dental, life, LTD and 401k. Full-time Head Swim Coach – Spare Time Aquatics Sharks – STAS ( Sacramento ) The Spare Time Aquatics Sharks are looking for a full-time Head C oach. STAS is a Level 2 USA Swimming Club at Rio del Oro Sports Club in Sacramento , CA. The team is consistently one of the t op teams in Northern California.   The ideal candidate is passionate about the sport of swimming, and is focused on swimmer development, the candidate will lead our program as our S enior Coach and will have oversight over the other coaches. AHI Swim Team, located in American Canyon, CA, (Napa County) is a program of excellence instilling a lifelong love of swimming. We are a Spring/ Summer Recreational Swim Team, part of the Twin County Swim League, following Contra Costa County Swim Rules, serving approximately 130 swimmers ages 4-18 in our community. The team is organized and managed by a volunteer parent board, and parent volunteers run the meets. We swim at the American Canyon High School Pool beginning late March, continuing through early August. Practices are held weekday evenings in April and May and switch to a combination of morning and evening for the summer. Coach schedules will be considered before summer practice times are finalized. Swim meets are held Saturday mornings or Wednesday evenings in June and July with 1-2 full weekend meets plus two all-day Saturday meets also planned. AHI seeks coaches for the 2020 season, coaches must be at least 18 years of age with a love of swimming and at least one year of competitive swimming or coaching experience. Coaches will collaborate with the coaching staff and parent board to inspire young swimmers to do their best as a valuable member of the team, encourage mentorship among swimmers, teach good sportsmanship, and to improve youth swimmer performance at all levels. We're seeking an Assistant Swim Team Coach to join our team. As our new Assistant Swim Team Coach you will: Be approachable and visible to all club members and all swim team families. Bring an enthusiastic and energetic approach to each and every practice. Develop strong, lasting relationships with all swimmers on the team and the lap swimmers. Ensure the safety of swimmers at the practice by following proper precautions and regulations. Give swimmers knowledge to understand and master stokes allowing for movement up through the swim team groups. Be on deck before swimmers begin practice, to greet swimmers and parents. Help set up and run swim meets as deemed necessary by the Head Coach. 9. Communicate effectively with the Head Coach about daily practice procedures, emergencies, and information regarding swimmers and swim team well-being. Attend any and all team meeting, get together, as deemed necessary by the Head Coach. Maintain structure and discipline within a group setting, while encouraging and promoting student participation in as positive manner. Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment Develop a dryland training program and execute during daily practices. Keep current with research in aquatics related areas. Assist the lifeguards with the enforcement of pool rules and in helping lap swimmers find lanes available to them. Assist with the development and marketing of all Aquatics programs. Other duties when needed. Required Qualifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification (AED, CPR, First Aid) or Coaches Water Safety and AED/CPR and First Aid. Extensive experience working with children and teenagers. Strong background in competitive swimming. Must have at least two years of coaching experience. Preferred Qualifications:   Excellent verbal and communication skills.
