Job Description The Hickam Hurricanes are looking to hire a reasonably experienced coach to join our team on deck! We will be undergoing a few changes in our staffing in the coming months and would like to get ahead of the learning curve. About the team: The Hickam Hurricanes are a non-profit military only USA swimming club. We are located on Hickam Air Force Base, right next to Pearl Harbor (if you are non military that is not a problem, as base access can be granted via sponsorship). Due to being located on a military instillation, our membership is limited to military only families which usually leaves our active member count to over 100 swimmers, depending on the time of the year. About the position: One of our coaches is moving away in the next few months so her position would be passed along to the best qualified candidate. We would prefer to hire sooner than later, so that said candidate has time to get acquainted with the groups and have an easy transition once this coach departs. The typical weekly schedule is: 3:00pm - 6:30pm Monday to Friday 7:00am - 10:00am Saturday As needed for swim meets Responsibilities: You will be directly in charge of both the Mini 1 and Mini 2 age groups, acting as a first line of contact for parents should they have questions and report to the Head Coach. Depending on current staff, you will be required to coach at least the Mini 1 group each day, but possibility of coaching Mini 2 as well on certain days. Once finished with those groups, you will switch over to either the Gold or Elite groups assisting one of the coaches in charge of those groups. This way you will get to know the majority of the team as well as get to coach all levels on the team. Experience requested: Since you will be covering a large variety of skill levels we are asking: At least 1-2 years coaching experience, especially with 10&Under age groups Experience with a USA swimming club Certifications/Registration as a USA swimming coach (if expired, renewal must be completed before first day on deck) Willingness to be flexible on a daily basis with what groups you will be in charge of Prior experience as a swimmer is not required, but it helps Salary: All coaching staff are on an hourly based salary. Assistant Swim Coach- Lead Senior Coach
acac is seeking a lead competitive coach to work primarily with our senior swimmers in our competitive team. acac also offers USMS Masters Swimming, a non competitive swim program and a summer recreational swim team.  The Assistant Coach conducts practices for acac swim team members following the head coach’s guidelines. The Assistant Coach works with children of different ages and ability levels so that they progress effectively to higher levels of swimming. Essential Functions and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): On deck coaching primarily weekday mornings 5:00 -8:00am (Tuesday - Friday, some Saturdays). Other shifts may become available. Responsible for daily, weekly and season planning for the Senior group with the Head Coach and may attend 1 - 2 meets a month. Plans and conducts effective and progressive practices (in water and dryland) on a solo platform, with assistance from Head Coach. Maintains vigilance while conducting practice in order to maintain constant control of the group and emphasize safety at all times. Safety is our number one concern, thus acac swim team keeps Safe Sport at the forefront of our program. Successful completion of all certifications required by USA swimming, The ability to address swimmers of various skill levels as well as coordinate effective practices for all parties in attendance. Promote the sport of swimming in a positive and enthusiastic manner to swimmers, their families and our club members. Understand and address that swimming is a lifelong sport and thus educate participants the healthy benefits of technically proficient strokes. Assistant Head Coach-Novice Groups Head Coach
The Assistant Coach Position will report directly the Club Owner and Head Coach. Applicant should have a strong swimming background (competing at the college level preferred) and strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults. Applicants must be hands-on, detail oriented, and foster a positive attitude within the Club. Must be certified with USA Swimming as a non-athlete coach member, passing required USA Swimming background and coaching tests. Applicants must be able to travel locally (and occasionally regionally) for swim meets. Duties:   Primary Coach- Red Team, Secondary Coach- Black Team Provide Swim Lessons for additional compensation The Red Team consists of 3 groups. They are entry level groups and consist of kids ages 4-11. Red 1 is an entry level group with our youngest kids learning the basics of strokes and correct technique.  Red 2 is our second group and has kids that know the strokes, have the basic techniques and understand the rules of swimming. They are in the beginning stages of complex sets and are able to read the clocks.  Red 3 is our older swimmers that know the strokes, can comprehend and carry out complex yardage sets, read the clocks and are  preparing for advanced groups and/or High School Swimming.  Additional help with assisting the Head Coach in the advanced groups will be discussed with interview. Hours: Monday: 4:00-6:30 PM Tuesday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Wednesday: 4:00-6:30 PM Thursday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Additional hours will be available if needed/able. Expected to attend Swim Meets as primary Club coach if needed. Expect 6-8 hours per each day of the meet. Assistant Age Group Coaching Position
We are looking for an assistant age group coach to start with our club May 2020. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, enthusiastic and good with younger, beginning swimmers. We are located in Farmington, NM.  We are a year-round competitive age group swim team. Our swimmers range from age 5- 18 primarily with varying levels of abilities. Hours would be Monday-Friday 5:45 pm-7:45 pm in addition to morning practice during summer months 7:00 am-9:00 am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Some weekend travel to meets as needed. Location: Cub Run Rec Center Chantilly, VA, USA   Immediate opening for 11 month part time position   The  Potomac Marlins  USA Swimming Team is looking for an enthusiastic coach (or coaches) interested in coaching our novice and entry level age group swimmers. The Marlin’s Cub Run facility has close to 200 swimmers from 8 and under through Sectional/Jr. National level swimmers. We’re looking for a coach that understands it starts at the base of the pyramid and is excited to work with our novice level swimmers.  The coach will be responsible for implementing a stroke oriented program for swimmers ages 8 and under. The Lakota Family YMCA is looking for 1-2 Assistant Coaches for our year-round YMCA/USA swim team.  We are located just north of Cincinnati in Liberty Township, Ohio.  We compete as a member of the Southwest Ohio YMCA Swim League as well as being a USA Swimming registered club.  Our club has seen tremendous growth, both in participation and ability level, in recent years.  This summer our swimmers have been championship finalists at Ohio Swimming Junior Olympics, USA Swimming Central Zones Championships, and YMCA National Championships.  We have an immediate need for 1-2 coaches to lead one of our 10 & Under practice groups.  The right candidate for these positions will be someone who enjoys working with younger swimmers and can be enthusiastic on the pool deck, both at practices and meets.  This candidate should also have a strong knowledge of the technical aspects of all four competitive strokes, as well as starts and turns.  Competitive swimming and/or coaching experience is preferred.  Time Commitment: A minimum of 5 hours during the week as well as weekend meets 1-2 times per month.  Practice times are currently 5:45-7:00pm.  Additional hours (up to 15 per week, not counting meets) are available if desired by assisting with other practice groups.  Required Certifications (must be able to obtain within 30 days of hire-Lakota YMCA can assist if needed) YMCA Principles of Swimming and Diving USA Swimming Coach Member – Background Check and Athlete Protection Training included Safety Training for Swim Coaches from an approved organization CPR/First Aid certification from an approved organization   This is a part-time position with hourly rate commensurate with experience.  Opportunities for additional hours exist if desired through teaching group or private swim lessons and/or lifeguarding at the Y.  Please email a resume and short letter of interest to Head Coach, Tom Cuticchia, at tom.cuticchia@lakotaymca.com.

COHO Swim Club – Lead Group Coach  (Age Group program) The Coho Swim Club, located in Deerfield, IL is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our staff immediately as a part-time Lead Age Group Coach. We have over 250 registered swimmers annually, and a staff of 3 full time and 6 to 10 part-time dedicated coaches ranging from Level 1 to Level 4 of the American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA). Swimmers in our age-group program range from just starting out in competitive swimming, all the way up to Regional, State, and Zone Champions.   We focus on helping swimmers of all ages and abilities have fun, develop friendships, set goals, and experience success in the best possible team setting. We aim to instill a sense of Spirit, Character and Pride in all participants, and we strive to assist our swimmers in becoming outstanding individuals in all aspects of life, even beyond their athletic achievements. Applicants should have previous experience coaching and/or have taught swim lessons. Candidates should be available most evenings and some weekends. Carolina Aquatic Team is seeking part time qualified coaches to work with our developmental groups as well as fill in for other practice groups as needed. The ideal candidates are energetic, knowledgeable, passionate about swimming, and able to communicate with parents, coaches and athletes. Carolina Aquatic Team developmental groups practice at the Orange County SportsPlex, Edison Johnson Aquatic Center, and Campus Hills Recreation Center in Hillsborough/Durham NC.   Minimum Qualifications: Previous coaching experience preferred (Summer League Swim Teams and Lessons are recognized) Ability to work, train, and instruct one or multiple practice groups from either 4:30-6:00 PM, or 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Monday-Friday.
