As our new Assistant Swim Team Coach you will: Be approachable and visible to all club members and all swim team families. Bring an enthusiastic and energetic approach to each and every practice. Develop strong, lasting relationships with all swimmers on the team and the lap swimmers. Ensure the safety of swimmers at the practice by following proper precautions and regulations. Give swimmers knowledge to understand and master stokes allowing for movement up through the swim team groups. Be on deck before swimmers begin practice, to greet swimmers and parents. Help set up and run swim meets as deemed necessary by the Head Coach. 9. Communicate effectively with the Head Coach about daily practice procedures, emergencies, and information regarding swimmers and swim team well-being. Attend any and all team meeting, get together, as deemed necessary by the Head Coach. Maintain structure and discipline within a group setting, while encouraging and promoting student participation in as positive manner. Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment Develop a dryland training program and execute during daily practices. Keep current with research in aquatics related areas. Assist the lifeguards with the enforcement of pool rules and in helping lap swimmers find lanes available to them. Assist with the development and marketing of all Aquatics programs. Other duties when needed. Background Profile: Required Qualifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification (AED, CPR, First Aid) or Coaches Water Safety and AED/CPR and First Aid. Extensive experience working with children and teenagers. Strong background in competitive swimming. Must have at least two years of coaching experience.   Preferred Qualifications:   Excellent verbal and communication skills. Strong service orientation and attitude; the ability to provide members, guests and staff with exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner. Superior communication skills. Ability to relate to diverse populations. Enthusiastic, responsible and team-oriented.   Physical Requirements: Exposure to variety of weather elements. Requires long periods of standing. Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left hand use, Typing. Grasping and gripping movements. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Some lifting may require additional assistance from another staff person. Employee expected to use discretionary judgment and ask for assistance from another employee if an item is perceived to be too heavy to lift without assistance. Use of personal safety equipment required. Frequent use of pool and cleaning chemicals. Continuous exposure to moderate to loud noise. Occasional exposure to bodily fluids. The Rancho San Dieguito Swim Team has immediate coaching openings for the following practice groups: Lead Coach for pre-competitive swimmers age 13 and older (weekdays) Lead Coach for competitive swimmers age 13 and older (weekdays) Assistant Coach with the above groups (weekdays) Assistant Coach with our 12 and younger age group program (weekdays) Lead and/or Assistant for weekend practice groups (Fri-Sat-Sun) Successful candidates may coach with more than one group and the coaching hours can range from 2-6 hours daily depending on practice group placement, with the possibility of additional administrative hours depending on experience.   We are looking for an experienced swim coach. Coaching duties include weekday afternoon practices, attending weekend swim meets (approximately 1-2 times per month), regular staff meetings, and swim team administration duties. Candidates must be dynamic and passionate about working with our swimmers and families. Successful candidates will have a minimum of two years of coaching experience with a USA registered swim program.   RSD is a teaching and values based team with over 500 members. RSD swim team’s home is the Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito in beautiful Solana Beach, CA. As a part of the Boys and Girls Club we have complete access and operate our two pool facility. RSD is a USA Swimming Club Excellence Bronze Medal Club and a USA Swimming Recognized Level 4 Club.   USA Swimming, ASCA membership, CPR/AED, and Lifeguarding are required. Coaching work could be part-time and or full-time work. Job Responsibilities: Assistant coach for 10 and under silver and bronze groups. Assistant coach for 11 to 14 year old silver and bronze groups. Potential to be a assistant coach with 10 under gold group 11-12 gold road and 13-14 gold group. Potential to lead your own group definitely exist for the right candidate. Potential for growth opportunities are definitely part of the opportunity. Previous age group coaching experience is preferred. Experience and knowledge and prior use of team unify and on deck is a benefit. Must bring a positive attitude effort and focus to swimmers on deck. Working hours are typically between the hours of 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Some swim meet are required for coaching. Lead Competitive Coach
Piranhas Aquatic Club is seeking a lead competitive coach to work with swimmers in our competitive team. Piranhas Aquatic Club is a year-round USA swimming program in the Elk Grove area. The organization also offers USMS Masters Swimming and a summer recreational swim team. Job Responsibilities On-deck coaching and prep from generally from 6-7:30 am and 3:30-7:30 pm Monday-Friday. Responsible for daily, weekly, and season planning for the competitive team in coordination with the Head Coach and will typically attend 1-2 meets per month. Works directly with the Head Coach to develop and oversee curriculum and practice schedules for the competitive team. Works directly with the Head Coach to maintain the direction of the program to follow the long-term plan. Assist the Head Coach in developing this plan. Assist with administrative duties for the team, which includes communication to swimmers and parents, develop and implement strategies to retain swimmers and assist with marketing and development of all PAC programs. Supervision of the assistant coaches as assigned by the Head Coach. This includes oversight of training plans, schedules and other. Attend all meets as agreed upon with the head coach. Assist with travel meets for all meets attended for groups that the coach oversees. Compensation Compensation for this position is based on qualifications and availability. Reimbursement for travel and team related expenses.  Team provides funding for coach educational opportunities.
