The Salem YMCA is seeking a leader with a background in aquatics to manage the operations of our Aquatics Department.   The Aquatics Director is responsible for all aspects of the instructional and recreational aquatics experience. Reports To General Manager General Description Responsible for providing innovative direction and support in all aspects of the aquatics operation.  The Director will be the Junior Head Swim Coach, Supervise both Swim Lessons & Lifeguard operations as well oversee the Master Swim Program.  Responsibilities and Duties Head Coach, Gold River Stingrays Recruit, train, schedule and supervise swim team staff. Support the organization in planning, budgeting, promotion and evaluation of all swim team activity. Oversee the control and safety of the pool during clinics, practices and meets. Assist in the scheduling of the pool for clinics, practices and meets. Provide innovative practice and workout content including written practice plans, instruction in all four competitive strokes, starts, turns and touches and the use of drills and stroke correction in every opportunity. The Fort Belvoir Swim Team is seeking (1) Full-time Coach and (2) Part-time Coaches. The Full-time position responsibilities are: On-deck Coaching approximately 30 hours a week; Administrative duties approximately 10 hours a week. Job Description The mission of the JCCSF Swim Team is to provide young swimmers with quality coaching that will help them develop and enhance their swimming and endurance skills. To create an environment where swimmers feel like they are part of a team and learn how to compete with the goal of putting forth their absolute best effort and regardless of the result feel confident and supported for that effort. The JCCSF Swim Team is a continuum of the JCCSF Swim School and Youth Athletic programs, providing young people the opportunity to develop life skills such as personal effort, integrity, confidence and teamwork.   The Assistant Swim Coach helps the Head Coach to create this experience. The Assistant Coach is expected to attend all swim meets, swim practices and team functions throughout the year and is also responsible for creating and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the swim team participants. The Assistant Coach also assists the Head Coach and Aquatics Program Manager with communicating with all swim team members as well as various swim team system functions including, but not limited to, managing team rosters, meet times and communications.   RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Head Coach in creating thorough, age -appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, drills, etc. Lead structured practice in absence of Head Coach Assist with practice on days with large team attendance Take direction and guidance from Head Coach Help to record all work outs and track daily attendance. Employees in this classification must represent the RecPlex in a professional manner, while instructing and monitoring personnel, members, guests, and program participants.   Job Duties ·Must be able to manage the competitive swim team including working with existing coaches and staff while growing the team in numbers and talent. ·Responsible for managing the Learn to Swim lesson program while growing participant numbers and swim instructors. ·Responsible for recruiting championship bids and the bid process for hosting and managing rented and hosted swim meets, open water swims, and events both indoor and outdoor. ·Interface with RecPlex Website, Guest Services, RecPlex Managers, and Business Office on all Aquatics Programming. ·Coordinate aquatics marketing plans. ·Must be capable of scheduling, training, supervising and evaluating a large number of lifeguards, swim instructors, and aquatic personnel of varying ages and emotional maturity. ·Must meet or exceed budget targets for revenues, and budget limits for labor costs and direct costs. ·Must facilitate staff meetings with aquatic staff and swim team. ·Must maintain administrative records and create reports including:  attendance reports, program reports, payroll documentation including approval of employee time sheets, accident reports and personnel evaluations; conduct regular performance reviews, at prescribed intervals; keep staff informed of regular, new and upcoming activities, events, policies, programs and so on. ·Work with outside vendors and sponsors to make sure we are adhering to agreements and promoting best business practices. ·Must be able to coordinate with other recreation managers, facility supervisors and school administrators for scheduling and reservations of program facilities. ·Must create a positive hospitality and be accessible and visible. ·Must establish and maintain a set work schedule; ensure adequate coverage during all hours of operation; work within payroll budget in areas of responsibility. ·Must be energetic, enthusiastic and motivational. ·Must know and enforce all RecPlex, Village and department rules, regulations, policies, standard operating procedures and guidelines. ·Must work shifts as Manager on Duty including: opening/closing of the facility; physical inspection of the entire building; ensure safety of employees and patrons in the facility and administer CPR or first aid as needed; set up, put away and maintain athletic equipment; maintain cash control of the safe and front desk drawer; complete paperwork. ·Must have the ability to apply principles of influence, such as motivation, incentive and leadership systems. ·Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. ·Maintain effective working relationships with employees, peers, coordinators, and the public. ·Ability to visually monitor pool and beach areas and respond quickly to emergency situations. ·Ability to obtain and maintain preferred certifications. ·Requires the ability to perform highly skilled coordinated movements, such as utilizing a rescue tube, spinal board, Shepherd’s Crook and other safety and first aid procedures. ·Must have knowledge of life guarding techniques; Jeff Ellis & Associates swimming programs; pool safety; water chemistry. ·Must be able to perform other duties and special assignments as directed by the Operations Superintendent and Director of Recreation including assignments that may be outside the primary area of employment.     Physical Requirements ·Requires high degree of interaction and communication with staff and public.  Works closely with Operations Superintendents, RecPlex Managers, and Director of Recreation.  Work subject to varying shifts.  Majority of work performed is indoors in an aquatic atmosphere.  The work requires long periods of attentiveness, standing, sitting, pulling, pushing, reaching, carrying, cleaning, visual monitoring, verbal and written communication, hearing, moderate lifting 15-50 pounds, periods of extensive public contact and exposure to stressful and emergency situations. ·RecPlex is located in Prairie Springs Park at 9900 Terwall Terrance, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.  Hours will vary with evening, weekend, and holiday work required.  Work is usually performed during typical daytime and early evening hours, but diversity of special events and workload, as well as available staffing and budget, requires weekend and evening hours.   Requirements - educational, certifications and experience ·Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Business or related field is required.  Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 5 - 10 years of aquatics experience with significant experience coaching and managing a competitive swim team. Strong verbal and written skills are mandatory as well as high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.  Extensive customer service and public relations are required.   Coaching Policy Athletic/team Coaches are hired to instruct/teach specific skills where the coach is the teacher and the player(s) is/are the learner(s) and instill teamwork both during team practices and games.  Coaches are not hired to participate with the players during scrimmages or active play, or endurance/strength training.

Work in a team-based environment teaching the cutest kids in Atlanta how to swim. Our instructors teach classes for students ages 3 months old all the way to adult, in a variety of environments: group classes, private lessons, and semi-private lessons. With our 40 hour training program, you will learn how to build meaningful relationships with clients as a means for making swimming an enjoyable experience for all levels and ages of students. The Assistant Coach Position will report directly the Club Owner and Head Coach. Applicant should have a strong swimming background (competing at the college level preferred) and strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults. Applicants must be hands-on, detail oriented, and foster a positive attitude within the Club. Must be certified with USA Swimming as a non-athlete coach member, passing required USA Swimming background and coaching tests. Applicants must be able to travel locally (and occasionally regionally) for swim meets. Duties:   Primary Coach- Red Team, Secondary Coach- Black Team Provide Swim Lessons for additional compensation The Red Team consists of 3 groups. They are entry level groups and consist of kids ages 4-11. Red 1 is an entry level group with our youngest kids learning the basics of strokes and correct technique.  Red 2 is our second group and has kids that know the strokes, have the basic techniques and understand the rules of swimming. They are in the beginning stages of complex sets and are able to read the clocks.  Red 3 is our older swimmers that know the strokes, can comprehend and carry out complex yardage sets, read the clocks and are  preparing for advanced groups and/or High School Swimming.  Additional help with assisting the Head Coach in the advanced groups will be discussed with interview. Hours: Monday: 4:00-6:30 PM Tuesday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Wednesday: 4:00-6:30 PM Thursday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Additional hours will be available if needed/able. The Rancho San Dieguito Swim Team has immediate coaching openings for the following practice groups: Lead Coach for pre-competitive swimmers age 13 and older (weekdays) Lead Coach for competitive swimmers age 13 and older (weekdays) Assistant Coach with the above groups (weekdays) Assistant Coach with our 12 and younger age group program (weekdays) Lead and/or Assistant for weekend practice groups (Fri-Sat-Sun) Successful candidates may coach with more than one group and the coaching hours can range from 2-6 hours daily depending on practice group placement, with the possibility of additional administrative hours depending on experience.   We are looking for an experienced swim coach. Coaching duties include weekday afternoon practices, attending weekend swim meets (approximately 1-2 times per month), regular staff meetings, and swim team administration duties. Candidates must be dynamic and passionate about working with our swimmers and families. Successful candidates will have a minimum of two years of coaching experience with a USA registered swim program.   RSD is a teaching and values based team with over 500 members. RSD swim team’s home is the Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito in beautiful Solana Beach, CA. As a part of the Boys and Girls Club we have complete access and operate our two pool facility. RSD is a USA Swimming Club Excellence Bronze Medal Club and a USA Swimming Recognized Level 4 Club.   USA Swimming, ASCA membership, CPR/AED, and Lifeguarding are required.
