Conducting test sets, dry land sessions following the season plan, tracking performance and communicating this information to parents, conduct parent and athlete meetings, attending coaches’ meetings and all other functions related. Creating a training plan and conducting workouts geared towards maximizing the swimmer's potential for primary training groups of highly committed 12 & Unders while overseeing the developmental 14 & Under program. Working with all coaches to ensure that athletes 12 & under are being prepared for long-term progression through the team. Performing administrative functions including, but not limited to, swim meet entries, parent and athletes meetings, attend weekend swim meets as scheduled, coaching at swim meets and management of team rosters. Running clinics and camps and develop cohesive lesson program to feed into the developmental half of the swim team. Helping to coordinate/manage corporate functions at the health club. What you’re all about: A joy and enthusiasm for working with children and helping them improve their competitive performance. 3 years of previous coaching experience and/or aquatics experience and coaching membership that is in good standing with USA Swimming. An ASCA Level II certification (or higher) is highly desirable but not required. High School diploma or general education degree (GED); Bachelor’s degree ideal. ASSISTANT HEAD SWIM COACH with Las Trampas Swim Team The Las Trampas Swim Team (LTST) in Lafayette, California seeks an Assistant Head Swim Coach beginning the 2020 summer rec season!  LTST is a family-oriented, parent supported member of the Diablo Community Swim League. At the heart of the LTST community are approximately 200 children who enjoy improving their swimming skills in a competitive atmosphere.     The Assistant Head Swim Coach is primarily responsible for supporting the Head Coach by managing swim practices and meets, providing constructive technical guidance to swimmers, leading the team of Assistant Coaches, and attending social and spirit events. The ideal candidate for this position: Has a competitive swimming background and understands proper stroke technique, starts and turns. Is passionate about working with young swimmers and fostering individual improvement, strong character, teamwork, team spirit and fun. Is a natural leader, who is effective and comfortable mentoring swimmers (ages 4-18). Has coaching and supervisory experience; must be able to lead a team of Assistant Coaches (ages 15-18). Is available for the duration of the rec swimming season: April 20 through May 29:   Practices are weekday afternoons/evenings. June 1 through July 30: Practices are weekday mornings. May 17 through August 2: Meets are typically Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, occasionally Sundays. A detailed calendar will be provided. Some schedule flexibility can be discussed. Maintains certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR with AED, and First Aid (or can become certified prior to beginning work). Possesses positive and effective skills to communicate with the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Swim Team Co-Directors, team parents, and board members. Exhibits patience, moral character, reliability, enthusiasm and confidence; works collaboratively and flexibly with others. Position Requirements: Attend all swim practices, all swim meets, and social/spirit events deemed necessary by the Swim Team Co-Directors or Head Coach. Plan practice sets with specific areas of focus, under the direction of the Head Coach. Lead quality practice sessions with attention and enthusiasm. Support the team by developing meaningful relationships with swimmers, fellow coaches, parents and team leadership. Help run meets smoothly, talking to swimmers before and/or after their races. Help ensure that swimmers are present and focused for their races. Teach private swim lessons on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons (June and July). Promote safety at the pool by following and enforcing proper precautions and pool rules. Conduct self in a professional, positive, courteous and sportsmanlike manner at all times, both on and off the pool deck. Additional tasks and/or duties as assigned by Co-Directors or Head Coach. Cape Fear Aquatic Club in Wilmington, NC is seeking a part-time assistant swim coach. The assistant coach will lead our athletes during practices and meets, instructing and inspiring our swimmers in a fun and positive environment. Three to five evening shifts per week are required, which may range from one to three hours depending on the age group; there will also be regularly scheduled weekend meets that range from 8 to 12 hours each. Hours can be discussed based on groups that this position may coach. This position may be seasonal or year-round. Assist with the development and marketing of all Aquatics programs. Other duties when needed. Background Profile: Required Qualifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification (AED, CPR, First Aid) or Coaches Water Safety and AED/CPR and First Aid. Extensive experience working with children and teenagers. Strong background in competitive swimming. Must have at least two years of coaching experience.   Preferred Qualifications:   Excellent verbal and communication skills. Strong service orientation and attitude; the ability to provide members, guests and staff with exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner. Superior communication skills. Ability to relate to diverse populations. Enthusiastic, responsible and team-oriented.   Physical Requirements: Exposure to variety of weather elements. Requires long periods of standing. The Fort Belvoir Swim Team is seeking (1) Full-time Coach and (2) Part-time Coaches. The Full-time position responsibilities are: On-deck Coaching approximately 30 hours a week; Administrative duties approximately 10 hours a week. Strong verbal and written skills are mandatory as well as high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.  Extensive customer service and public relations are required.   Coaching Policy Athletic/team Coaches are hired to instruct/teach specific skills where the coach is the teacher and the player(s) is/are the learner(s) and instill teamwork both during team practices and games.  Coaches are not hired to participate with the players during scrimmages or active play, or endurance/strength training.  

Boulder Swim Team - Assistant Swim Coach Boulder Swim Team is looking for a qualified coach eager to learn and contribute to our program. Candidates need to be certified in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard or Coaches Safety Training, and any other required certifications per USA Swimming and/or CO Swimming. Also must be able to pass a background check. Boulder Swim Team will reimburse all employees for required education/training/certifications. General Summary:   Assistant coach with all age groups. Duties include analyzing performance and instructing competitive swimming technique for children ages 7 - 18 years old. Schedule : 5 shifts per week (M-F, 4-7pm), plus 1 meet weekend per month. Qualifications: Coaching membership in good standing with USA Swimming. Minimum 1 year (preferred 3yrs) previous coaching and/or aquatics experience. ASCA Level 1 or above certification preferred. Candidates should have exceptional communication and motivation skills with children. Additional Requirements: Work under the direction of the head coach Provide input on training plan and conduct workouts. Emphasize proper stroke technique and understand the progression for each training group. Conducting test sets, dryland sessions following the season plan, tracking performance, and attending coaches’ meetings and all other functions related. The Assistant Coach Position will report directly the Club Owner and Head Coach. Applicant should have a strong swimming background (competing at the college level preferred) and strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults. Applicants must be hands-on, detail oriented, and foster a positive attitude within the Club. Must be certified with USA Swimming as a non-athlete coach member, passing required USA Swimming background and coaching tests. Applicants must be able to travel locally (and occasionally regionally) for swim meets. Duties:   Primary Coach- Red Team, Secondary Coach- Black Team Provide Swim Lessons for additional compensation The Red Team consists of 3 groups. They are entry level groups and consist of kids ages 4-11. Red 1 is an entry level group with our youngest kids learning the basics of strokes and correct technique.  Red 2 is our second group and has kids that know the strokes, have the basic techniques and understand the rules of swimming. They are in the beginning stages of complex sets and are able to read the clocks.  Red 3 is our older swimmers that know the strokes, can comprehend and carry out complex yardage sets, read the clocks and are  preparing for advanced groups and/or High School Swimming.  Additional help with assisting the Head Coach in the advanced groups will be discussed with interview. Hours: Monday: 4:00-6:30 PM Tuesday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Wednesday: 4:00-6:30 PM Thursday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Additional hours will be available if needed/able. Expected to attend Swim Meets as primary Club coach if needed. Expect 6-8 hours per each day of the meet.
