Cape Fear Aquatic Club in Wilmington, NC is seeking a part-time assistant swim coach. The assistant coach will lead our athletes during practices and meets, instructing and inspiring our swimmers in a fun and positive environment. Three to five evening shifts per week are required, which may range from one to three hours depending on the age group; there will also be regularly scheduled weekend meets that range from 8 to 12 hours each. Hours can be discussed based on groups that this position may coach. This position may be seasonal or year-round. Carolina Aquatic Team is seeking part time qualified coaches to work with our developmental groups as well as fill in for other practice groups as needed. The ideal candidates are energetic, knowledgeable, passionate about swimming, and able to communicate with parents, coaches and athletes. Carolina Aquatic Team developmental groups practice at the Orange County SportsPlex, Edison Johnson Aquatic Center, and Campus Hills Recreation Center in Hillsborough/Durham NC.   Minimum Qualifications: Previous coaching experience preferred (Summer League Swim Teams and Lessons are recognized) Ability to work, train, and instruct one or multiple practice groups from either 4:30-6:00 PM, or 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Monday-Friday. Must be able to work weekends for swim meets averaging once per month. Strong swimming background and teaching knowledge Strong customer service skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Duties: Maintain full USA Swimming Coaching Certification at all times, must complete all certification requirements within 30 days of hire (reimbursement for certifications provided by Carolina Aquatic Team) Planning and writing daily workouts for you group(s) Attending scheduled meets Meet entries Contribute in Staff communications and discussions Track group attendance Opportunity: Compensation based on experience, achievements and other factors. The YBAC Hurricanes Swim Team has an opening for Head Swim Coach.  Qualifications for this part-time position include prior swim coaching as well as competitive swimming experience preferred.  The successful candidate will have the ability to organize and direct swim practices for all levels and abilities.  The successful candidate must also communicate clearly and precisely both orally and in writing. The Head Swim Coach will operate under the general supervision and guidance of the Director of Competitive Swimming.  Job Responsibilities On-deck coaching and prep generally from 4:00-6:30 pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday and 4:00 – 7:00 on Tuesday / Thursday. Responsible for daily, weekly, and season planning for the competitive team in coordination with the Director of Competitive Swimming and will typically attend  1-2 meets per month. Works directly with the Director of Competitive Swimming to develop and oversee curriculum and practice schedules for the competitive team. Works directly with the Director of Competitive Swimming to maintain the direction of the program to follow the long-term plan. Assist the Director of Competitive Swimming in developing this plan. Assist with minimal administrative duties for the team, which includes communication to swimmers and parents, develop and implement strategies to retain swimmers and assist with marketing and development of YBAC. Attend all meets as agreed upon with the Director of Competitive Swimming. Compensation Compensation for this position is based on qualifications – Range ($12.00 - $15.00/hr).
