ASSISTANT HEAD SWIM COACH with Las Trampas Swim Team The Las Trampas Swim Team (LTST) in Lafayette, California seeks an Assistant Head Swim Coach beginning the 2020 summer rec season!  LTST is a family-oriented, parent supported member of the Diablo Community Swim League. At the heart of the LTST community are approximately 200 children who enjoy improving their swimming skills in a competitive atmosphere.     The Assistant Head Swim Coach is primarily responsible for supporting the Head Coach by managing swim practices and meets, providing constructive technical guidance to swimmers, leading the team of Assistant Coaches, and attending social and spirit events. The ideal candidate for this position: Has a competitive swimming background and understands proper stroke technique, starts and turns. Is passionate about working with young swimmers and fostering individual improvement, strong character, teamwork, team spirit and fun. Is a natural leader, who is effective and comfortable mentoring swimmers (ages 4-18). Has coaching and supervisory experience; must be able to lead a team of Assistant Coaches (ages 15-18). Is available for the duration of the rec swimming season: April 20 through May 29:   Practices are weekday afternoons/evenings. June 1 through July 30: Practices are weekday mornings. May 17 through August 2: Meets are typically Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, occasionally Sundays. A detailed calendar will be provided. Some schedule flexibility can be discussed. Maintains certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR with AED, and First Aid (or can become certified prior to beginning work). Possesses positive and effective skills to communicate with the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Swim Team Co-Directors, team parents, and board members. Exhibits patience, moral character, reliability, enthusiasm and confidence; works collaboratively and flexibly with others. Position Requirements: Attend all swim practices, all swim meets, and social/spirit events deemed necessary by the Swim Team Co-Directors or Head Coach. Plan practice sets with specific areas of focus, under the direction of the Head Coach. Lead quality practice sessions with attention and enthusiasm. Support the team by developing meaningful relationships with swimmers, fellow coaches, parents and team leadership. Help run meets smoothly, talking to swimmers before and/or after their races. Help ensure that swimmers are present and focused for their races. Teach private swim lessons on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons (June and July). Promote safety at the pool by following and enforcing proper precautions and pool rules. Conduct self in a professional, positive, courteous and sportsmanlike manner at all times, both on and off the pool deck. Additional tasks and/or duties as assigned by Co-Directors or Head Coach. Assistant Swim Team Coach - Jewish Community Center San Francisco
Job Description The mission of the JCCSF Swim Team is to provide young swimmers with quality coaching that will help them develop and enhance their swimming and endurance skills. To create an environment where swimmers feel like they are part of a team and learn how to compete with the goal of putting forth their absolute best effort and regardless of the result feel confident and supported for that effort. The JCCSF Swim Team is a continuum of the JCCSF Swim School and Youth Athletic programs, providing young people the opportunity to develop life skills such as personal effort, integrity, confidence and teamwork.   The Assistant Swim Coach helps the Head Coach to create this experience. The Assistant Coach is expected to attend all swim meets, swim practices and team functions throughout the year and is also responsible for creating and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the swim team participants. The Assistant Coach also assists the Head Coach and Aquatics Program Manager with communicating with all swim team members as well as various swim team system functions including, but not limited to, managing team rosters, meet times and communications.   RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Head Coach in creating thorough, age -appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, drills, etc. Lead structured practice in absence of Head Coach Assist with practice on days with large team attendance Take direction and guidance from Head Coach Help to record all work outs and track daily attendance. Maintain a consistent presence at all swim team events such as meets, social events, meetings, etc. Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment. Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations. Record times at swim meets and assist in imputing into swim team system. Be committed to the mission and goals of the JCCSF. Additional duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: Experience working with children ages 5-13 years. 2+ years swim instructor/coaching experience. 2+ years’ experience as a competitive swimmer, preferred Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification. Experience working with parents, preferred Enthusiastic, dynamic presence with good communication skills Applicants must be available for all weekday practices and occasional weekend meets. Summer League Coach
AHI Swim Team, located in American Canyon, CA, (Napa County) is a program of excellence instilling a lifelong love of swimming. We are a Spring/ Summer Recreational Swim Team, part of the Twin County Swim League, following Contra Costa County Swim Rules, serving approximately 130 swimmers ages 4-18 in our community. The team is organized and managed by a volunteer parent board, and parent volunteers run the meets. We swim at the American Canyon High School Pool beginning late March, continuing through early August. Practices are held weekday evenings in April and May and switch to a combination of morning and evening for the summer. Coach schedules will be considered before summer practice times are finalized. Swim meets are held Saturday mornings or Wednesday evenings in June and July with 1-2 full weekend meets plus two all-day Saturday meets also planned. AHI seeks coaches for the 2020 season, coaches must be at least 18 years of age with a love of swimming and at least one year of competitive swimming or coaching experience. Coaches will collaborate with the coaching staff and parent board to inspire young swimmers to do their best as a valuable member of the team, encourage mentorship among swimmers, teach good sportsmanship, and to improve youth swimmer performance at all levels. Piranhas Aquatic Club is seeking a lead competitive coach to work with swimmers in our competitive team. Piranhas Aquatic Club is a year-round USA swimming program in the Elk Grove area. The organization also offers USMS Masters Swimming and a summer recreational swim team. Job Responsibilities On-deck coaching and prep from generally from 6-7:30 am and 3:30-7:30 pm Monday-Friday. Responsible for daily, weekly, and season planning for the competitive team in coordination with the Head Coach and will typically attend 1-2 meets per month. Works directly with the Head Coach to develop and oversee curriculum and practice schedules for the competitive team. Works directly with the Head Coach to maintain the direction of the program to follow the long-term plan. Assist the Head Coach in developing this plan. Assist with administrative duties for the team, which includes communication to swimmers and parents, develop and implement strategies to retain swimmers and assist with marketing and development of all PAC programs. Supervision of the assistant coaches as assigned by the Head Coach. This includes oversight of training plans, schedules and other. Attend all meets as agreed upon with the head coach. Assist with travel meets for all meets attended for groups that the coach oversees. Compensation Compensation for this position is based on qualifications and availability. Reimbursement for travel and team related expenses.  Team provides funding for coach educational opportunities.

Our team culture emphasizes technique, and we are looking for an individual who shares this passion and is knowledgeable in the 4 competitive strokes.  Great position for someone interested in coaching and still in school with afternoons available. Effectively instruct swimmers on efficient stroke technique Understand progression of each competitive stroke and turn Understand foundations of swimming (breath control, balance, buoyancy, streamline, head position, etc) and use that information to identify breakdown in stroke technique. Changes instructional delivery based on audience age and ability level. Understands developmental differences (physical and cognitive) between 6-13 year olds Apply knowledge to groups which may contain multiple levels of development. Effectively manage groups of swimmers. Communication/Professional Disposition Clear/precise instructions and directions Positive, age appropriate language Represent program philosophy when communicating with swimmers, parents, and staff On time arriving at least 5 minutes before scheduled practice time Smile while coaching, happy, fun, passionate disposition Safety Preventative safety instruction:  jumping, running, diving, properly sharing lane space, etc. Aware of swimmer safety at all times Reinforces rules Responds in an emergency   The position will start beginning of September.  Your schedule will be as follows:   Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays from 3:45pm – 6:00pm, Wednesdays 3:15pm-6:00pm and Fridays 3:45pm-5:15pm.  There will be occasional swim meets on the weekends as well.  You will need to be certified in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Safety for Swim Coaches, or be able to obtain them within the first month of working.  Must clear background check. Pay range will be $20-$25 an hour DOE.  Includes retirement benefits and limited access to the facility.  Extra hours can always be obtained with swim lessons during the Fall.

Lead Age Group Coach
Job Overview: Under the supervision of the Head Coach (HC), the Lead Age Group Coach (LAGC) is responsible for developing, organizing, and implementing a high quality training and education program to meet the needs of the assigned groups of the BAC Age Group Swim Team. Our goal is for our team to grow in quantity and quality as a competitive swim team within the Zone 1 North of Pacific Swimming and USA Swimming. The LAGC is the primary point of contact for the swimmers and parents in his/her assigned groups, and must ensure that a professional level program is offered at all times. Duties Include: The LAGC will be the ​LEAD​ on: Maintaining a season plan for all group(s) coached. This includes when to alter practice schedule to optimize training, social events, incentive programs, etc. Communicating with all group(s) coached. This will include a weekly email as well as any  additional support emails that must be addressed over the course of the week. Managing assigned pool space (lane set-up, covers). Please allow 15 minutes on the   pool deck immediately before a scheduled practice and 15 minutes immediately   following to assess your pool situation and to answer parent/swimmer questions. Educating swimmers and parents on team culture and competitive swimming etiquette. Maintaining good standing as a coach member of USA Swimming The HC will require support from the LAGC on the following: Attend meets as assigned by HC Fundraising efforts. This could be organizing a fundraiser with a local restaurant, our  annual Lap-A-Thon, Silent Auction, etc. Technique Clinics (once per trimester) Maintaining a proper work schedule under federal, state, and BAC employment   guidelines Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by the HC The LAGC is responsible for: The contents of the BAC Employee Handbook Logging daily attendance for swim group(s) Ensuring the safety of swimmers (staying with swimmers if we are closing) Logging hours daily in ADP app Attend weekly staff meetings Hours and Location: Hours for this position include approximately 15 hours of practice time per week as agreed to with the Coach, all at the Burlingame Aquatic Center or satellite pool locations, plus additional time spent preparing the facility for practices, meeting with coworkers, and responding to member inquiries. Some administrative work must be done on site at the aquatic facility, in addition to staff meetings. Practice hours include early afternoon practice sessions as well as the possibility of evening practice sessions. A typical month will also include 1-2 weekend swim meets/competitions. Qualifications: The LAGC must have a strong background in the sport of swimming (USA Swimming and/or collegiate swimming background preferred) and have the ability to effectively teach swimming to a wide range of athletes. He/she must be able to provide creative swim workouts that incorporate the technical needs of all swimmers, and also have a very positive on-deck demeanor. The LAGC must have professional communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with participants about any program changes or special events. The LAGC must be reliable, punctual, and approachable, and must be dedicated to sustaining a strong program that values all levels of swimmers. He/she must be able to cooperate with all BAC staff members in an effort to support the overall mission of the club. The LAGC must hold a current nationally recognized Training Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety for Swim Coaches and is responsible for keeping those certifications current. American Red Cross Lifeguard certification is required within 3 months. Current coaching membership in USA Swimming is also required. BAC does reimburse for the cost of certification/membership upkeep. Salary & Benefits: This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt and non-benefitted position. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Beautiful coastal town seeking a head age group coach/ assistant coach to work with swimmers ages 6 ~ 17 and assist to expand our team. Prior swim coach experience and knowledge of aquatic/swim team programs is required Essential Duties and Responsibilities Membership in USA Swimming and successful completion of all required certifications Plan and schedule all MAVS programs; develop curriculum, schedule and staffing plan for all routine practice sessions Attend in coach capacity and manage all staff during all practice sessions Participate in staff recruitment and evaluation activities Evaluate programs seasonally and report back to the MAVS Board with recommendations on new or expanding business ideas Make recommendations on training (seminars, conventions, workshops, and other extended learning opportunities) for MAVS coaches and lifeguards Complete an accurate and timely monthly timesheet Attend all swim meets in which MAVS swimmers are participating in Communicate with MAVS Board, parents, and swimmers in a courteous and timely manner during on deck hours when appropriate, by phone, and/or Report planned and unplanned absences to the MAVS Board and coaching staff andensure that proper coaching coverage is provided for all practices and/or swim meets Submit a schedule for meets and other scheduled activities to MAVS Board on a quarterly basis?
