Working under the direction of the head coach to assist with various job duties including helping with the Senior Group as needed and recruiting new swimmers. Emphasizing proper stroke technique and understand the progression for each training group. Conducting test sets, dry land sessions following the season plan, tracking performance and communicating this information to parents, conduct parent and athlete meetings, attending coaches’ meetings and all other functions related. Creating a training plan and conducting workouts geared towards maximizing the swimmer's potential for primary training groups of highly committed 12 & Unders while overseeing the developmental 14 & Under program. Working with all coaches to ensure that athletes 12 & under are being prepared for long-term progression through the team. Performing administrative functions including, but not limited to, swim meet entries, parent and athletes meetings, attend weekend swim meets as scheduled, coaching at swim meets and management of team rosters. Running clinics and camps and develop cohesive lesson program to feed into the developmental half of the swim team. Helping to coordinate/manage corporate functions at the health club. ASSISTANT HEAD SWIM COACH with Las Trampas Swim Team The Las Trampas Swim Team (LTST) in Lafayette, California seeks an Assistant Head Swim Coach beginning the 2020 summer rec season!  LTST is a family-oriented, parent supported member of the Diablo Community Swim League. At the heart of the LTST community are approximately 200 children who enjoy improving their swimming skills in a competitive atmosphere.     The Assistant Head Swim Coach is primarily responsible for supporting the Head Coach by managing swim practices and meets, providing constructive technical guidance to swimmers, leading the team of Assistant Coaches, and attending social and spirit events. The ideal candidate for this position: Has a competitive swimming background and understands proper stroke technique, starts and turns. Is passionate about working with young swimmers and fostering individual improvement, strong character, teamwork, team spirit and fun. Is a natural leader, who is effective and comfortable mentoring swimmers (ages 4-18). Has coaching and supervisory experience; must be able to lead a team of Assistant Coaches (ages 15-18). Is available for the duration of the rec swimming season: April 20 through May 29:   Practices are weekday afternoons/evenings. June 1 through July 30: Practices are weekday mornings. May 17 through August 2: Meets are typically Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, occasionally Sundays. A detailed calendar will be provided. Some schedule flexibility can be discussed. Maintains certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR with AED, and First Aid (or can become certified prior to beginning work). Possesses positive and effective skills to communicate with the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Swim Team Co-Directors, team parents, and board members. Exhibits patience, moral character, reliability, enthusiasm and confidence; works collaboratively and flexibly with others. Position Requirements: Attend all swim practices, all swim meets, and social/spirit events deemed necessary by the Swim Team Co-Directors or Head Coach. Plan practice sets with specific areas of focus, under the direction of the Head Coach. Lead quality practice sessions with attention and enthusiasm. Support the team by developing meaningful relationships with swimmers, fellow coaches, parents and team leadership. Help run meets smoothly, talking to swimmers before and/or after their races. Help ensure that swimmers are present and focused for their races. Teach private swim lessons on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons (June and July). Promote safety at the pool by following and enforcing proper precautions and pool rules. Conduct self in a professional, positive, courteous and sportsmanlike manner at all times, both on and off the pool deck. Additional tasks and/or duties as assigned by Co-Directors or Head Coach. Coordinate all aquatics, swim club, and first aid and training programs. The five areas of focus for this position include safety, compliance, people management, program and financial management along with aquatic leadership in the community.    Job Responsibilities 1.  Manage the aquatics facilities in the Minnetonka School District  and surrounding beach areas within the District. 2.  Coordinate the scheduling of all events at the aquatics facilities. 3.  Supervise the Head Swim Club Coach, Head Age Group Coach, Lifeguard Services Coordinator, Aquatics Recreational Activities Coordinator, and Masters Swim Coaches, and Aquatics Office Assistant.  4.  Work closely with the Coordinator of Facilities Services in regard to maintenance, mechanical or custodial issues. 5.  Coordinate the purchasing, inventory and maintenance of pool equipment. 6.  Manage programs, clinics and classes associated with the facilities including scheduling registration and payroll. 7.  Work with staff to investigate and recommend strategies to effectively manage risk in aquatics facilities. 8.  Maximize revenue producing opportunities through traditional and non-traditional usage of aquatics facilities. 9.  Develop and monitor annual budget for aquatics facilities and programs. 10.  Coordinate with physical education staff and district administration on the use of aquatics facilities. 11.  Coordinate with the Anchor Club in the support of all aquatics activities. 12.  Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.   Job Requirements  1.  Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Administration or related field is preferred. 2.  Minimum of two years of successful related experience, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role. 3.  Considerable knowledge of sports and recreational administration. 4.  Considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a comprehensive community aquatics program. 5.  Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in a community aquatics program. 6.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the general public. 7.  Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. 8.  Ability to plan and supervise the work of paid staff and volunteers.   *Note: It is possible to combine the Aquatics Director position with the girls’ and/or boys’ high school swimming and diving head coach assignments beginning with the 2020-21 season. Cape Fear Aquatic Club in Wilmington, NC is seeking a part-time assistant swim coach. The assistant coach will lead our athletes during practices and meets, instructing and inspiring our swimmers in a fun and positive environment. Three to five evening shifts per week are required, which may range from one to three hours depending on the age group; there will also be regularly scheduled weekend meets that range from 8 to 12 hours each. Hours can be discussed based on groups that this position may coach. This position may be seasonal or year-round. The Salem YMCA is seeking a leader with a background in aquatics to manage the operations of our Aquatics Department.   The Aquatics Director is responsible for all aspects of the instructional and recreational aquatics experience. Located in the heart of downtown Salem, the Salem YMCA provides over 150 swim lessons to youth weekly, offers aqua activities for all ages, and is host to a local High School Swim Team.  Key responsibilities of this role include recruiting, retaining and transitioning swimmers of all ages and abilities through the programs and working collaboratively with the competitive team to achieve a successful conversion rate of instructional swimmers to the competitive program. Through strong leadership, efficient planning, high quality engagement, and direct service, the Aquatics Director manages staff, provides guidance on the technical and physical skills of swimming, creates an environment of fun that develops relationships, achievement and belonging while fostering a lifelong love of swimming and the water.  The incumbent in this role will enjoy connecting with participants and visitors of all ages, have the ability to carry out Aquatics initiatives that meet the goals of the organization, and have a strong skill set in planning and leading others. Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience. At least 21 years of age with 3-5 years experience as a competitive coach, preferably in a leadership capacity. At least one year of staff supervision experience including one evaluative cycle and demonstrated ability to positively develop and support exceptional performance. Current USA Swimming and or YMCA Swim coach credentials. Certified Pool Operator CPO, CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 3 months. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills in accordance with YMCA standards and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics. Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to relate to individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Extensive experience working with children and teenagers. Strong background in competitive swimming. The Fort Belvoir Swim Team is seeking (1) Full-time Coach and (2) Part-time Coaches. The Full-time position responsibilities are: On-deck Coaching approximately 30 hours a week; Administrative duties approximately 10 hours a week. Experience with Meet Manager and Team Manager preferred.  Experience as a Meet Director preferred.  Training will be provided if needed.  Willingness and ability to Coach a wide variety of athletes.  Motivating personality, ability to interact with parents with strong rapport and encourage swimming as a life-time sport.  Salaried position with potential for increased income with high school and summer league swim coaching.   The Part-time positions responsibilities are: On-deck Coaching approximately 4-10 hours a week depending on availability.  Assist main group Coach with Age Group Swimmers and manage our bridge program with autonomy.

Job Description The mission of the JCCSF Swim Team is to provide young swimmers with quality coaching that will help them develop and enhance their swimming and endurance skills. To create an environment where swimmers feel like they are part of a team and learn how to compete with the goal of putting forth their absolute best effort and regardless of the result feel confident and supported for that effort. The JCCSF Swim Team is a continuum of the JCCSF Swim School and Youth Athletic programs, providing young people the opportunity to develop life skills such as personal effort, integrity, confidence and teamwork.   The Assistant Swim Coach helps the Head Coach to create this experience. The Assistant Coach is expected to attend all swim meets, swim practices and team functions throughout the year and is also responsible for creating and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the swim team participants. The Assistant Coach also assists the Head Coach and Aquatics Program Manager with communicating with all swim team members as well as various swim team system functions including, but not limited to, managing team rosters, meet times and communications.   RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Head Coach in creating thorough, age -appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, drills, etc. Lead structured practice in absence of Head Coach Assist with practice on days with large team attendance Take direction and guidance from Head Coach Help to record all work outs and track daily attendance. Maintain a consistent presence at all swim team events such as meets, social events, meetings, etc. Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment. Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations. Record times at swim meets and assist in imputing into swim team system. Assist in swim team social event planning, as necessary Coordinate with other coaches on specific areas of expertise. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for swim team participants. Be committed to the mission and goals of the JCCSF. Additional duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: Experience working with children ages 5-13 years. 2+ years swim instructor/coaching experience. 2+ years’ experience as a competitive swimmer, preferred Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification. Experience working with parents, preferred Enthusiastic, dynamic presence with good communication skills Applicants must be available for all weekday practices and occasional weekend meets. The primary purpose of the Aquatics Manager is to provide outstanding service through warm interactions.  The secondary responsibilities are to manage and supervise all employees and operations of the Aquatics Division including both the leisure pool and competition pool, and beach in a professional manner.  Other responsibilities include: program planning and administration, leadership and coaching for our competitive swim team, personnel and budget management, and aquatic facility and equipment management. Strong verbal and written skills are mandatory as well as high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.  Extensive customer service and public relations are required.   Coaching Policy Athletic/team Coaches are hired to instruct/teach specific skills where the coach is the teacher and the player(s) is/are the learner(s) and instill teamwork both during team practices and games.  Coaches are not hired to participate with the players during scrimmages or active play, or endurance/strength training.
