Instruct participants according to YMCA Aquatics program standards: using lesson guides, guided discovery teaching, effective class organization and positive relationship with participants. Check equipment before and after each class, and report repair needs to supervisor whenever necessary. Set-up, breakdown and store equipment for each class. Attend mandatory in-service training on a monthly basis. Must attain the YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification within 120 days of hire. Know and understand the Emergency Action Plan and Emergency Evacuation Routes. Enforce Aquatics safety rules consistently and fairly. Maintain positive relationships with class participants, parents, non-class members and staff. Promote other Aquatics programs; have knowledge of pool schedule and programs. Maintain certification level of physical and mental readiness. Responsible for recertification before expiration. Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings and special events.  Qualifications:         Must be 17 years of age or older. High School diploma or equivalent, desired. Current YMCA Swim Lessons certification or equivalent. Current CPRO, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications. Demonstrate swim strokes and CPRO/FA/EO skills. ASSISTANT HEAD SWIM COACH with Las Trampas Swim Team The Las Trampas Swim Team (LTST) in Lafayette, California seeks an Assistant Head Swim Coach beginning the 2020 summer rec season!  LTST is a family-oriented, parent supported member of the Diablo Community Swim League. At the heart of the LTST community are approximately 200 children who enjoy improving their swimming skills in a competitive atmosphere.     The Assistant Head Swim Coach is primarily responsible for supporting the Head Coach by managing swim practices and meets, providing constructive technical guidance to swimmers, leading the team of Assistant Coaches, and attending social and spirit events. The ideal candidate for this position: Has a competitive swimming background and understands proper stroke technique, starts and turns. Is passionate about working with young swimmers and fostering individual improvement, strong character, teamwork, team spirit and fun. Is a natural leader, who is effective and comfortable mentoring swimmers (ages 4-18). Has coaching and supervisory experience; must be able to lead a team of Assistant Coaches (ages 15-18). Is available for the duration of the rec swimming season: April 20 through May 29:   Practices are weekday afternoons/evenings. June 1 through July 30: Practices are weekday mornings. May 17 through August 2: Meets are typically Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, occasionally Sundays. A detailed calendar will be provided. Some schedule flexibility can be discussed. Maintains certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR with AED, and First Aid (or can become certified prior to beginning work). Support the team by developing meaningful relationships with swimmers, fellow coaches, parents and team leadership. Help run meets smoothly, talking to swimmers before and/or after their races. Help ensure that swimmers are present and focused for their races. Teach private swim lessons on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons (June and July). Promote safety at the pool by following and enforcing proper precautions and pool rules. Conduct self in a professional, positive, courteous and sportsmanlike manner at all times, both on and off the pool deck. Additional tasks and/or duties as assigned by Co-Directors or Head Coach. The five areas of focus for this position include safety, compliance, people management, program and financial management along with aquatic leadership in the community.    Job Responsibilities 1.  Manage the aquatics facilities in the Minnetonka School District  and surrounding beach areas within the District. 2.  Coordinate the scheduling of all events at the aquatics facilities. 3.  Supervise the Head Swim Club Coach, Head Age Group Coach, Lifeguard Services Coordinator, Aquatics Recreational Activities Coordinator, and Masters Swim Coaches, and Aquatics Office Assistant.  4.  Work closely with the Coordinator of Facilities Services in regard to maintenance, mechanical or custodial issues. 5.  Coordinate the purchasing, inventory and maintenance of pool equipment. 6.  Manage programs, clinics and classes associated with the facilities including scheduling registration and payroll. 7.  Work with staff to investigate and recommend strategies to effectively manage risk in aquatics facilities. 8.  Maximize revenue producing opportunities through traditional and non-traditional usage of aquatics facilities. 9.  Develop and monitor annual budget for aquatics facilities and programs. 10.  Coordinate with physical education staff and district administration on the use of aquatics facilities. 11.  Coordinate with the Anchor Club in the support of all aquatics activities. 12.  Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.   Job Requirements  1.  Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Administration or related field is preferred. 2.  Minimum of two years of successful related experience, including experience in a supervisory or leadership role. 3.  Considerable knowledge of sports and recreational administration. 4.  Considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a comprehensive community aquatics program. 5.  Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in a community aquatics program. 6.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the general public. 7.  Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. 8.  Ability to plan and supervise the work of paid staff and volunteers.   *Note: It is possible to combine the Aquatics Director position with the girls’ and/or boys’ high school swimming and diving head coach assignments beginning with the 2020-21 season. Cape Fear Aquatic Club in Wilmington, NC is seeking a part-time assistant swim coach. The assistant coach will lead our athletes during practices and meets, instructing and inspiring our swimmers in a fun and positive environment. Three to five evening shifts per week are required, which may range from one to three hours depending on the age group; there will also be regularly scheduled weekend meets that range from 8 to 12 hours each. The Salem YMCA is seeking a leader with a background in aquatics to manage the operations of our Aquatics Department.   The Aquatics Director is responsible for all aspects of the instructional and recreational aquatics experience. The Fort Belvoir Swim Team is seeking (1) Full-time Coach and (2) Part-time Coaches. The Full-time position responsibilities are: On-deck Coaching approximately 30 hours a week; Administrative duties approximately 10 hours a week. Experience with Meet Manager and Team Manager preferred.  Experience as a Meet Director preferred.  Training will be provided if needed.  Willingness and ability to Coach a wide variety of athletes.  Motivating personality, ability to interact with parents with strong rapport and encourage swimming as a life-time sport.  Salaried position with potential for increased income with high school and summer league swim coaching.   The Part-time positions responsibilities are: On-deck Coaching approximately 4-10 hours a week depending on availability.  Assist main group Coach with Age Group Swimmers and manage our bridge program with autonomy.

The primary purpose of the Aquatics Manager is to provide outstanding service through warm interactions.  The secondary responsibilities are to manage and supervise all employees and operations of the Aquatics Division including both the leisure pool and competition pool, and beach in a professional manner.  Other responsibilities include: program planning and administration, leadership and coaching for our competitive swim team, personnel and budget management, and aquatic facility and equipment management. Employees in this classification must represent the RecPlex in a professional manner, while instructing and monitoring personnel, members, guests, and program participants.   Job Duties ·Must be able to manage the competitive swim team including working with existing coaches and staff while growing the team in numbers and talent. ·Responsible for managing the Learn to Swim lesson program while growing participant numbers and swim instructors. ·Responsible for recruiting championship bids and the bid process for hosting and managing rented and hosted swim meets, open water swims, and events both indoor and outdoor. ·Interface with RecPlex Website, Guest Services, RecPlex Managers, and Business Office on all Aquatics Programming. ·Coordinate aquatics marketing plans. ·Must be capable of scheduling, training, supervising and evaluating a large number of lifeguards, swim instructors, and aquatic personnel of varying ages and emotional maturity. ·Must meet or exceed budget targets for revenues, and budget limits for labor costs and direct costs. ·Must facilitate staff meetings with aquatic staff and swim team. ·Must maintain administrative records and create reports including:  attendance reports, program reports, payroll documentation including approval of employee time sheets, accident reports and personnel evaluations; conduct regular performance reviews, at prescribed intervals; keep staff informed of regular, new and upcoming activities, events, policies, programs and so on. ·Work with outside vendors and sponsors to make sure we are adhering to agreements and promoting best business practices. ·Must be able to coordinate with other recreation managers, facility supervisors and school administrators for scheduling and reservations of program facilities. ·Must create a positive hospitality and be accessible and visible. ·Must establish and maintain a set work schedule; ensure adequate coverage during all hours of operation; work within payroll budget in areas of responsibility. ·Must be energetic, enthusiastic and motivational. ·Must know and enforce all RecPlex, Village and department rules, regulations, policies, standard operating procedures and guidelines. ·Must work shifts as Manager on Duty including: opening/closing of the facility; physical inspection of the entire building; ensure safety of employees and patrons in the facility and administer CPR or first aid as needed; set up, put away and maintain athletic equipment; maintain cash control of the safe and front desk drawer; complete paperwork. ·Must have the ability to apply principles of influence, such as motivation, incentive and leadership systems. ·Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. ·Maintain effective working relationships with employees, peers, coordinators, and the public. ·Ability to visually monitor pool and beach areas and respond quickly to emergency situations. ·Ability to obtain and maintain preferred certifications. ·Requires the ability to perform highly skilled coordinated movements, such as utilizing a rescue tube, spinal board, Shepherd’s Crook and other safety and first aid procedures. ·Must have knowledge of life guarding techniques; Jeff Ellis & Associates swimming programs; pool safety; water chemistry. ·Must be able to perform other duties and special assignments as directed by the Operations Superintendent and Director of Recreation including assignments that may be outside the primary area of employment.     Physical Requirements ·Requires high degree of interaction and communication with staff and public.  Works closely with Operations Superintendents, RecPlex Managers, and Director of Recreation.  Work subject to varying shifts.  Majority of work performed is indoors in an aquatic atmosphere.  The work requires long periods of attentiveness, standing, sitting, pulling, pushing, reaching, carrying, cleaning, visual monitoring, verbal and written communication, hearing, moderate lifting 15-50 pounds, periods of extensive public contact and exposure to stressful and emergency situations. ·RecPlex is located in Prairie Springs Park at 9900 Terwall Terrance, Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.  Hours will vary with evening, weekend, and holiday work required.  Work is usually performed during typical daytime and early evening hours, but diversity of special events and workload, as well as available staffing and budget, requires weekend and evening hours.   Requirements - educational, certifications and experience ·Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Business or related field is required.  Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 5 - 10 years of aquatics experience with significant experience coaching and managing a competitive swim team. Strong verbal and written skills are mandatory as well as high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.  Extensive customer service and public relations are required.   Coaching Policy Athletic/team Coaches are hired to instruct/teach specific skills where the coach is the teacher and the player(s) is/are the learner(s) and instill teamwork both during team practices and games.  Coaches are not hired to participate with the players during scrimmages or active play, or endurance/strength training.

Boulder Swim Team - Assistant Swim Coach Boulder Swim Team is looking for a qualified coach eager to learn and contribute to our program. Candidates need to be certified in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard or Coaches Safety Training, and any other required certifications per USA Swimming and/or CO Swimming. Also must be able to pass a background check. Boulder Swim Team will reimburse all employees for required education/training/certifications. General Summary:   Assistant coach with all age groups. Duties include analyzing performance and instructing competitive swimming technique for children ages 7 - 18 years old. Schedule : 5 shifts per week (M-F, 4-7pm), plus 1 meet weekend per month. Qualifications: Coaching membership in good standing with USA Swimming. Minimum 1 year (preferred 3yrs) previous coaching and/or aquatics experience. ASCA Level 1 or above certification preferred. Candidates should have exceptional communication and motivation skills with children. Additional Requirements: Work under the direction of the head coach Provide input on training plan and conduct workouts. Emphasize proper stroke technique and understand the progression for each training group. Conducting test sets, dryland sessions following the season plan, tracking performance, and attending coaches’ meetings and all other functions related. The Assistant Coach Position will report directly the Club Owner and Head Coach. Applicant should have a strong swimming background (competing at the college level preferred) and strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults. Applicants must be hands-on, detail oriented, and foster a positive attitude within the Club. Must be certified with USA Swimming as a non-athlete coach member, passing required USA Swimming background and coaching tests. Applicants must be able to travel locally (and occasionally regionally) for swim meets. Duties:   Primary Coach- Red Team, Secondary Coach- Black Team Provide Swim Lessons for additional compensation The Red Team consists of 3 groups. They are entry level groups and consist of kids ages 4-11. Red 1 is an entry level group with our youngest kids learning the basics of strokes and correct technique.  Red 2 is our second group and has kids that know the strokes, have the basic techniques and understand the rules of swimming. They are in the beginning stages of complex sets and are able to read the clocks.  Red 3 is our older swimmers that know the strokes, can comprehend and carry out complex yardage sets, read the clocks and are  preparing for advanced groups and/or High School Swimming.  Additional help with assisting the Head Coach in the advanced groups will be discussed with interview. The Rancho San Dieguito Swim Team has immediate coaching openings for the following practice groups: Lead Coach for pre-competitive swimmers age 13 and older (weekdays) Lead Coach for competitive swimmers age 13 and older (weekdays) Assistant Coach with the above groups (weekdays) Assistant Coach with our 12 and younger age group program (weekdays) Lead and/or Assistant for weekend practice groups (Fri-Sat-Sun) Successful candidates may coach with more than one group and the coaching hours can range from 2-6 hours daily depending on practice group placement, with the possibility of additional administrative hours depending on experience.   We are looking for an experienced swim coach. Coaching duties include weekday afternoon practices, attending weekend swim meets (approximately 1-2 times per month), regular staff meetings, and swim team administration duties. Candidates must be dynamic and passionate about working with our swimmers and families. Successful candidates will have a minimum of two years of coaching experience with a USA registered swim program.   RSD is a teaching and values based team with over 500 members.
