The Salem YMCA is seeking a leader with a background in aquatics to manage the operations of our Aquatics Department.   The Aquatics Director is responsible for all aspects of the instructional and recreational aquatics experience. Located in the heart of downtown Salem, the Salem YMCA provides over 150 swim lessons to youth weekly, offers aqua activities for all ages, and is host to a local High School Swim Team.  Key responsibilities of this role include recruiting, retaining and transitioning swimmers of all ages and abilities through the programs and working collaboratively with the competitive team to achieve a successful conversion rate of instructional swimmers to the competitive program. Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience. At least 21 years of age with 3-5 years experience as a competitive coach, preferably in a leadership capacity. At least one year of staff supervision experience including one evaluative cycle and demonstrated ability to positively develop and support exceptional performance. Current USA Swimming and or YMCA Swim coach credentials. Certified Pool Operator CPO, CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 3 months. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills in accordance with YMCA standards and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics. Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to relate to individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Reports To General Manager General Description Responsible for providing innovative direction and support in all aspects of the aquatics operation.  The Director will be the Junior Head Swim Coach, Supervise both Swim Lessons & Lifeguard operations as well oversee the Master Swim Program.  Responsibilities and Duties Head Coach, Gold River Stingrays Recruit, train, schedule and supervise swim team staff. Support the organization in planning, budgeting, promotion and evaluation of all swim team activity. Oversee the control and safety of the pool during clinics, practices and meets. Assist in the scheduling of the pool for clinics, practices and meets. Provide innovative practice and workout content including written practice plans, instruction in all four competitive strokes, starts, turns and touches and the use of drills and stroke correction in every opportunity. Head Age Group Coach/Aquatics Supervisor Tuesday – Saturday   The JCC Bridgewater Tide (BWTD), located in Bridgewater, NJ, is seeking a full-time swim coach and Aquatics Supervisor to be the primary coach for our Tidal Waves, Bronze, and Senior group programs. The Tidal Waves and Bronze groups are the base of our program, and it is a great opportunity to instruct new swimmers and to get them engaged in the sport. The Senior group is our second-highest level group and is full of high school swimmers looking to improve. The Head Age Group coach will also assist in tasks in the Aquatics Department, as well as oversee the Summer Pool Club.   BWTD is a swiftly growing and improving program, which has grown from less than 90 swimmers in 2017 to a maximum of 140 swimmers in the summer of 2019 with ability levels ranging from novice to AAA level swimmers. Boulder Swim Team - Assistant Swim Coach Boulder Swim Team is looking for a qualified coach eager to learn and contribute to our program. Candidates need to be certified in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard or Coaches Safety Training, and any other required certifications per USA Swimming and/or CO Swimming. Also must be able to pass a background check. Boulder Swim Team will reimburse all employees for required education/training/certifications. General Summary:   Assistant coach with all age groups. Duties include analyzing performance and instructing competitive swimming technique for children ages 7 - 18 years old. Schedule : 5 shifts per week (M-F, 4-7pm), plus 1 meet weekend per month. This organization has both Learn to Swim and Competitive Swim programs. We’re looking for a highly organized and efficient professional with administrative experience and a basic understanding of swim clubs, though we are willing to provide in-house training. The successful candidate will provide assistance with all administrative activity, including those in accounting and customer service. The East Coast Aquatic Club (ECAC), located in Delray Beach, Florida, is searching for a qualified Age Group coach. Delray Beach is located in the South East coast of Florida, approximately 25 minutes south of West Palm Beach. The ECAC swim program is a young yet very successful age group program. It is one of the fastest growing teams in the area with approximately 100 members. Job Responsibilities: The Age group coach is responsible for selective groups of children 9-14 years old. The coach is responsible for writing daily practices, dry land and preparing seasonal plans for his/her groups, according to club philosophies. He/She will emphasize teaching all aspects of swimming with focus on stroke technique and good work ethics while making great efforts to achieve success at the age group level. Qualifications: The successful candidate should have at least 3 years of coaching experience with USA Swimming or another FINA federation. He/ She must have completed the background check and safe sport (athlete protection) program, and must be in good standings with USA Swimming. The candidate should be a high energy, positive person, with great communication skills, working well with swimmers, parents and other coaching staff. This is a part time position. We are located in Farmington, NM.  We are a year-round competitive age group swim team. Our swimmers range from age 5- 18 primarily with varying levels of abilities. Hours would be Monday-Friday 5:45 pm-7:45 pm in addition to morning practice during summer months 7:00 am-9:00 am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Some weekend travel to meets as needed. Desire to increase the number of athletes who swim year round Knowledge of programs including Hy-Tek, Meet Manager, Team Unify, etc. Bachelor’s degree. Duties include but are not limited to: Coach all age groups in practice and at designated meets. Maintain and pursue continuing education related to all athletes at his/her level about proper stroke technique. Responsible for implementing/enforcing any and all rules or guidelines as outlined in the Team Handbook. Ensure proper communication with parents and swimmers Must be able to show support and belief in the WASC program structure as a whole. Salary will be commensurate with experience and amount of duties accepted.  Currently the team has a head coach and a team manager.  $35,000 - $55,000        

Job Responsibilities SCSC Coaching: Responsible for and directs all levels of programming, including lessons/precompetitive, competitive (developmental, age group, seniors), Develop and drive a consistent, team-wide coaching philosophy, which is age-appropriate, emphasizing excellence, goal setting, and team work Plans and oversees execution of all phases of the program relating to athlete performance to ensure consistency and continuity in skill development and progression Devise, communicate, and execute seasonal plans, practice schedules, and training, which support team and individual goals Ensure coaches are following the goals of the training plan Attract and develop coaches who create a pipeline for training and motivating swimmers at every level of the sport. Direct coaching staff, which includes establishing coach performance expectations and development, conducting annual performance reviews, coordinating, and tracking continuing education and required certifications, and building a cohesive coaching staff; emphasizing communication, knowledge sharing, and cooperation Guides the recruitment and retention of swimmers Coach, develop, and attract National Level Swimmers that set a world class standard for excellence in swimming Determines meet schedule (including travel trips) and criteria to participate Sets workout schedules to maximize use of facilities and to meet budgetary requirements Coaches a minimum of one group Stay abreast of current trends, policies, and rules related to USA Swimming Ensures coaching coverage for all USA Swim Meets attended by SCSC Authority to select clinics and national level meets for staff education, along with authority to select staff to attend Promotes and encourages swimmer participation in special programs and clinics offered by USA and Pacific Swimming Provides college guidance and promotion to Senior swimmers during their Junior year in High School and trains the coaching staff on how to provide this guidance Oversees the following relating to meets Disbursement of meet information Maintain best times for team Maintain team records SCSC Administration: Responsible for directing entire Wet side staff (all site coaches and assistant coaches and CFO) Establish leadership and communication systems for handling community, local, national, and international swim relationships on behalf of the SCSC now and in the future Is a member of the SCSC Board of Directors Oversight of all SCSC administration with the assistance of administrative staff per and in accordance with SCSC by-laws Responsible for the daily operations of SCSC Partner with, advise, and assist the Board of Directors in conducting strategic Board responsibilities including annual club budgeting, annual club goals, fiscal policies, fee structures, club communication, membership, meets, and fundraising Collaborate and make recommendations to the Board regarding staffing requirements and changes. Has authority to hire and fire staff within budget constraints Facilitates recruiting, retention, career development and growth for staff members: Provides written job descriptions and annual evaluations to the Board for all salaried coaching and administration staff, and supervises salaried staff in developing job descriptions and annual evaluations for hourly staff Plans and directs regular staff meetings Responsible for salary and bonus recommendations within budget constraints and approval from Board Communicates with the Board of Directors regarding all aspects of team management Primary responsibility for establishing processes for dealing with all coaching, staff, issues and partners with Program Director on member issues when applicable Schedules routine office hours for all full-time coaches and the office staff Provide bi-monthly reports on the state of the team to all Board members Ensure Program Director maintains the SCSC website, publish a regular newsletter to the club membership, attend community meetings, and represent SCSC at all appropriate community meetings. Create and communicate annual calendar of meets, training, fundraisers, and related membership events. Responsible to make sure all USA Swimming Club Excellence program paperwork is completed annually and turned in on time. Allocation of any grant money from this program is at the sole discretion of the Head Coach.
