Head Swim Coach YWCA Tiger Sharks Swim Team   Location: YWCA Central Maine Lewistion Maine 04240   The YWCA Tiger Sharks Swim Team is looking for a Head Swim Coach. The Tiger sharks  team is a competitive program for swimmers ages 5-18+ years. We are a small but growing team of currently 40 swimmers who compete throughout Maine, in USA  swimming events! The head coach is responsible for screening/evaluating team members, helping swimmers develop goals, planning practices, scheduling meets, working with parent volunteers as well as providing on deck coaching at practices and all swim meets.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Organize and conduct practice workouts that are developmentally appropriate, well organized, and which demonstrate trackable progression throughout the course of the season. Develop a team culture that is focused on Youth Development, which rewards effort and commitment, not only results. Assist swimmers in developing, evaluating, and achieving goals. Schedule, organize, and administer home and away meets, making sure all necessary paperwork is completed in submitted on time. Remain current and educated with developments in the field of competitive swimming. Incorporate this knowledge via delivery of Tiger Sharks swim team practices, meets and special events. Work with Tiger shark Parents who may wish to assist the Head Coach with organizational and administrative functions such as officiating or fund raising. Keep families updated with team information through email and team Facebook page. Administer entering swimmers into meets,  running the team online store,  and marketing and recruiting for the team . Education Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or other related field preferred. Must be a USA Swimming certified Coach At least 1 year of coaching experience lifeguard certification, first aid, CPR/AED This is a Part time, year round position. Starting pay will be $14 – $17 per hour. Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students participating in the competitive swimming program. Essential Functions: 1. Develops positive relationships with members and participants and provides motivational support and guidance. 2. Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers members and participants to other programs. 3. Understands and is able to work in a fast-paced environment of competitive swimming. 4. Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.). 5. Attends staff meetings and trainings as scheduled. 6. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary. 7. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.

Job Title:  SWIM TEAM HEAD COACH Status: PART TIME Department: AQUATICS Reports to: SENIOR DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP & WELLNESS Hourly Rate: $16 to $18 per hour POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Senior Director of Membership & Wellness, the Swim Team Head Coach is responsible for organizing and conducting practices, clinics, meets and other events for the Wallingford Family YMCA Dolphins Swim Team.  This team is sponsored by the Wallingford Family YMCA and participates in the Yankee Cluster Swim League. This program is conducted in accordance with the missions and policies of the Wallingford Family YMCA, the YMCA of the USA, and USA Swimming.   This is a part-time position, not to exceed 40 hours per week. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Contribute to and supervise the fulfillment of the YMCA Mission and character development values through the Wallingford Family YMCA Dolphins Swim Team program. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Membership & Wellness, will assist in recruitment, hiring, training, supervising, motivating and evaluating swim team staff, as well as taking disciplinary action up to and including termination as needed. Recruit and oversee the Parent’s Association volunteers, attend monthly Parent Association meetings or arrange a coach representative. Assure that monthly all-parent meetings are held (this can include the spring banquet) where parents vote on Association budget and membership and any other business. Encourage recruitment of swimmers through YMCA swim lesson programs as well as other YMCA youth programs in collaboration with the Senior Director of Membership & Wellness and the Aquatics Director. Develop and maintain a recordkeeping system of the status and progress of each swimmer. In conjunction with the assistant swim coaches, prepare all meet entries assuring that every child swims in every meet they attend. Develop a schedule for swim team practices across multiple facilities, and develop competitive swim clinics each year. Update, maintain, and distribute the Dolphin Swim Team handbook. Communicate regularly with Senior Director of Membership & Wellness and with all coaches. Maintain communication and rapport with all swimmers and their parents. Demonstrate an enthusiastic attitude towards the team and provide a positive learning environment for all. Oversee the Dolphins website and other social media and ensure that it is kept up to date. Assist in the preparation of an annual budget under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Director of Membership & Wellness, and manage that budget for the Dolphins Swim Team program in accordance with established procedures and expectations. Represent the Wallingford Family YMCA at YMCA regional events and trainings. Assist with the evaluation and improvement of the swim team program.  Assist with the creation of new programs and new collaborations. Evaluate all programs annually to ensure they meet the needs of program participants. Continue to develop and evaluate the USA Swimming program as part of the Dolphins Swim program. Report any facility problems, needed repairs to the Facility Director following the work order procedure. Keep current with swim coaching techniques and issues. Membership in ASCA recommended. Keep all certifications current and monitor coaching staff to ensure their certifications are also kept current.  All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of Lifeguarding (YMCA or ARC) and CPR/AED/AEO is required.   Coaching certifications from YMCA of the USA and USA Swimming. Certification from ASCA is preferred.  Two to four years competitive coaching experience is required.   Two years Head Coach preferred. Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to communicate recognized principles and practices of coaching young swimmers.   Demonstrated ability to build a team of quality coaches. Great communication skills a must as well as supervision and public relations skills.   Sexual harassment training must be obtained within 6 months.  Additional certifications preferred: Lifeguard Management, WSI and/or Y Swim Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, and Pool Operator. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.  Must be able to work for extended periods of time in an aquatics environment. Safety is the responsibility of every employee of the YMCA. Montrose Marlins Swim Club in Montrose, Colorado has an immediate opening for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Swim Coach. Title: Montrose Marlins Swim Club Head Coach Reports to: Board of Directors Position Status : Part-time, year round Montrose Marlins Swim Club is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Head Swim Coach candidate for our year-round competitive swim team, with a love for the sport who can work well with children and be able to communicate well with the coaching staff, swimmers, and their parents. The Montrose Marlins Swim Team is a USA Swimming affiliated, year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor. We are a nonprofit 501c3 organization under the direction of a volunteer parent run Board of Directors. We have 70-90 swimmers in six progressive training groups: Little Nemos, Zoomers, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Juniors/Seniors that train year-round with a staff of five certified coaches. These groups are designed to provide athletes with a fun team atmosphere where swimmers of similar ability and commitment practice together and TEAM is emphasized in a competitive setting. We also offer an adult Masters swim group. The Marlins have swimmers from beginning age group to nationally-ranked athletes. This includes numerous zone, sectional and even junior national level athletes. Many of our Marlins alumni have gone on to swim collegiately at top-ranked universities, including the Air Force Academy, Denver University and Northwestern University. District), Madras Swim Team and Master Swimmers. CONTRACT DATES: Monday, August 5th, or sooner KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Maintain and coordinate all coaching duties with all facets of the MST Team, including organizing and planning of all practices and game strategies, scheduling of competitive meets, training and health education of athletes, and recruiting of athletes for the program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Utilizes developmentally appropriate teaching techniques to instruct diverse participant groups. 2. Knowledge of the rules and regulations of swim meets, swimmer eligibility, stroke and turn and other related aspects of competitive swimming. 3.
