SALARY: $16.00 P/H The YMCA of Greater New York is here for all New Yorkers — to empower youth, improve health, and strengthen community. The Prospect Park YMCA is seeking qualified individuals who will be responsible for the health and safety of patrons using the facility. Responsibilities:   Must be Instructor Ready: uniform, pocket face mask/gloves, whistle and rescue tube. Continuous and active scanning of the pool. Ensure instructional equipment remains in good condition; have all equipment ready prior to classes and put away after. Know and understand the Emergency Action Plan and Emergency Evacuation Routes. Enforce aquatics safety rules consistently and fairly. Perform second duties, as requested, only when not lifeguarding. Maintain positive relationships with members and staff. Follow the directions of the YMCA of Greater New York aquatic supervisors, in accordance with the YMCA aquatic standards. Must attain the YMCA Lifeguard certification within 90 days of hire. Maintain certification level of physical and mental readiness.  Responsible for recertification before expiration. Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings and special events. Qualifications:      Must be 17 years of age or older. High School diploma or equivalent, desired. Current YMCA Lifeguard certification or equivalent. Current Basic Life Support, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications. Demonstrate swim strokes, lifeguard rescues and BLS/BFA/EO skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Excellent hospitality skills. Freedom Aquatics, a competitive USA Swimming team with   locations in Staten Island, Brooklyn and New Jersey, is in search of qualified swim coaching candidates. Interested candidates must be Lifeguarding CPR/AED/AEO certified. USA Swim Coach Certification is preferred. Competitive coaching experience is a plus. Responsibilities include: Working under the direction of the Swim Team Manager/Head Coach to train, educate and instruct swimmers of all ages and competition levels in the sport of swimming. Attending swim meets with team at various locations throughout the tri-state area. Ensure safety of swimmers in and out of the pool. Northern Dutchess Aquatic Club (NDAC-MR)  is looking for qualified swim coaches for our 2019-20 season and beyond. Celebrating its 25th Season this year, NDAC is a year-round USA Swimming team for competitive swimmers aged 6-18. NDAC seeks motivated, experienced lead coaches for two practice groups:  (1) Group 1 Coach - swimmers aged 6-8 practices Monday, Wednesday and Friday 4-5 PM and Saturday noon to 1 PM.  (2) Group 3 Coach - swimmers aged 11-13 practices Monday through Friday 7-8:30 PM.  Ideal candidates should have a competitive swimming background and previous coaching or swim instruction experience (preferably at the age group level). Must be upbeat, energetic and highly committed to the development of young athletes, both in and out of the pool. NDAC’s 2019-20 season begins September 5th. Competitive Compensation Package (commensurate with experience) includes: hourly rate for practices, compensation rate for meet session coverage and travel compensation to/from meets.  Required Certifications: NDAC coaches must attain USA Swimming coach certification, Safety and Athlete Protection Training, CPR & First Aid and pass a USA Swimming background check prior to starting work.  Location: Bard College in Red Hook, NY  All interested candidates should email resume to NDAC Head Coach Kevin Storrs at  coach@ndac.us .
