As our new Masters Swim Team Coach you will: Be approachable and visible to all club members and all swim team families Bring an enthusiastic and energetic approach to each and every practice Develop strong, lasting relationships with all swimmers on the team and the lap swimmers Provide specific and corrective feedback to each swimmer at every practice Write, attend and actively coach all workouts for your assigned group(s) Recruit new swimmers from outside the club to join our team Keep current with research in aquatics related areas Assist the lifeguards with the enforcement of pool rules and in helping lap swimmers find lanes available to them Assist with the development and marketing of all Aquatics programs Attend and assist running Aquatics special events and conducted at our facility as needed Assist with the promotion our swim team both within the club (flyers, bulletin boards, swim instructor bios, signage on deck during lessons, member newsletter) and outside the club (website content, posting flyers, Community Fairs) Other duties as assigned Background Profile: Required Qualifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification (AED, CPR, First Aid) or Coaches Water Safety and AED/CPR and First Aid Strong background in competitive swimming Preferred Qualifications:   Excellent verbal and communication skills Strong service orientation and attitude; the ability to provide members, guests and staff with exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner Superior communication skills Ability to relate to diverse populations Enthusiastic, responsible and team-oriented Physical Requirements: Exposure to variety of weather elements Requires long periods of standing Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left hand use, Typing Grasping and gripping movements Ability to lift 50 lbs. Beautiful coastal town seeking a head age group coach/ assistant coach to work with swimmers ages 6 ~ 17 and assist to expand our team. Prior swim coach experience and knowledge of aquatic/swim team programs is required Essential Duties and Responsibilities Membership in USA Swimming and successful completion of all required certifications Plan and schedule all MAVS programs; develop curriculum, schedule and staffing plan for all routine practice sessions Attend in coach capacity and manage all staff during all practice sessions Participate in staff recruitment and evaluation activities Evaluate programs seasonally and report back to the MAVS Board with recommendations on new or expanding business ideas Make recommendations on training (seminars, conventions, workshops, and other extended learning opportunities) for MAVS coaches and lifeguards Complete an accurate and timely monthly timesheet Attend all swim meets in which MAVS swimmers are participating in Communicate with MAVS Board, parents, and swimmers in a courteous and timely manner during on deck hours when appropriate, by phone, and/or Report planned and unplanned absences to the MAVS Board and coaching staff andensure that proper coaching coverage is provided for all practices and/or swim meets Submit a schedule for meets and other scheduled activities to MAVS Board on a quarterly basis? EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years coaching experience as head or assistant coach ASCA Level 2 Certification or higher Member of ASCA and USA Swimming Competitive swimming experience required Experience with swim meet and team management software: Team Unify Current CPR for the professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid certifications Current Oxygen Administration certification Current Lifeguard certification Current WSI or YSI Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification
