The YMCA of Metro North is looking for a  Full  Time Head Competitive Coach  to bring their aquatic passion to the newly merged Swim Team.  The team will have three locations: Lynn, Peabody and Melrose.  Under the direction of the Association Aquatic Adviser, the Head Swim Team Coach is responsible helping our swimmers to realize what they can be instead of what they are, organizing and conducting practices, clinics, meets and other events for the YMCA of Metro North Swim Team. As their coach, your job is to set the bar high, inspire them to reach this bar, encourage them, and most of all, guide them in the best possible manner and in the most supportive environment. This newly formed team had 130 swimmer enrolled in the 2018 fall/winter season with room to grow.  This program is conducted in accordance with the missions and policies of the YMCA of Metro North, the YMCA of the USA, and USA Swimming. We invite our new coach to be a link to our storied past and the bridge to our successful future.   Qualifications A minimum of Lifeguarding (ARC) and CPR/AED/AEO is required. Coaching certifications from YMCA of the USA and USA Swimming. Certification from ASCA is preferred. Two to four years competitive coaching experience is required. Two years Head Coach preferred. Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to communicate recognized principles and practices of coaching young swimmers. Demonstrated ability to build a team of quality coaches. Great communication skills a must as well as supervision and public relations skills. Sexual harassment training must be obtained within 6 months. Additional certifications preferred: Lifeguard Management, WSI and/or Y Swim Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, and Pool Operator. Essential Functions Contribute to and supervise the fulfillment of the YMCA Mission and character development values through the YMCA of Metro North Swim team program. Develop staff through supervision and development opportunities. Recruit, train, and supervise all level swim coaches, coach’s assistants, and parent volunteers. Recruit and oversee the Parent’s Association volunteers, attend monthly Parent Advisory meetings or arrange a coach representative. Assure that monthly all-parent meetings are held (this can include the spring banquet). Encourage recruitment of swimmers through YMCA swim lesson programs as well as other YMCA youth programs in collaboration with the Association Aquatic Adviser and the Aquatics Directors. At times, teach swim lessons and guard during low swim team times. Maintain and administer Team Unify Develop and maintain a recordkeeping system of the status and progress of each swimmer. In conjunction with the assistant swim coaches, prepare all meet entries assuring that every child swims in every meet they attend. Develop a schedule for swim team practices across multiple facilities, and develop competitive swim clinics each year. Update, maintain, and distribute the Swim Team handbook. Communicate regularly with the Association Aquatic Advisor and all coaches. Maintain communication and rapport with all swimmers and their parents. Demonstrate an enthusiastic attitude towards the team and provide a positive learning environment for all. Oversee the team unify website and other social media and ensure that it is kept up to date. Assist in the preparation of an annual budget under the guidance and supervision of the Association Aquatic Adviser, and manage that budget for the Swim team program in accordance with established procedures and expectations. Represent the YMCA of Metro North at YMCA regional events and trainings. Continue to develop and evaluate the USA Swimming program as part of the Swim program. Report any facility problems, needed repairs to the Facility Director. Evaluate all programs annually to ensure they meets the needs of program participants. Keep current with swim coaching techniques and issues. Membership in ASCA recommended. Keep all certifications current and monitor coaching staff to ensure their certifications are also kept current. Attend practice in each location each week. Other duties as needed. Cause-Driven Leadership® Competencies Staff Administration: Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, will assist in recruitment, hiring, training, supervising, motivating and evaluating swim team staff, as well as taking disciplinary action up to and including termination as needed. Program Development: Assist with the evaluation and improvement of the swim team program. Assist with the creation of new programs and new collaborations. Supervision: Supervise all assistant coaches, coach aids, volunteer coaches, and mentors. Complete reports, projects, and assignments as needed or assigned. Job Description The Hickam Hurricanes are looking to hire a reasonably experienced coach to join our team on deck! We will be undergoing a few changes in our staffing in the coming months and would like to get ahead of the learning curve. About the team: The Hickam Hurricanes are a non-profit military only USA swimming club. We are located on Hickam Air Force Base, right next to Pearl Harbor (if you are non military that is not a problem, as base access can be granted via sponsorship). Due to being located on a military instillation, our membership is limited to military only families which usually leaves our active member count to over 100 swimmers, depending on the time of the year. About the position: One of our coaches is moving away in the next few months so her position would be passed along to the best qualified candidate. We would prefer to hire sooner than later, so that said candidate has time to get acquainted with the groups and have an easy transition once this coach departs. The typical weekly schedule is: 3:00pm - 6:30pm Monday to Friday 7:00am - 10:00am Saturday As needed for swim meets Responsibilities: You will be directly in charge of both the Mini 1 and Mini 2 age groups, acting as a first line of contact for parents should they have questions and report to the Head Coach. Depending on current staff, you will be required to coach at least the Mini 1 group each day, but possibility of coaching Mini 2 as well on certain days. Once finished with those groups, you will switch over to either the Gold or Elite groups assisting one of the coaches in charge of those groups. This way you will get to know the majority of the team as well as get to coach all levels on the team. Head Age Group Coach/Aquatics Supervisor Tuesday – Saturday   The JCC Bridgewater Tide (BWTD), located in Bridgewater, NJ, is seeking a full-time swim coach and Aquatics Supervisor to be the primary coach for our Tidal Waves, Bronze, and Senior group programs. Assistant Swim Coach- Lead Senior Coach
acac is seeking a lead competitive coach to work primarily with our senior swimmers in our competitive team. acac also offers USMS Masters Swimming, a non competitive swim program and a summer recreational swim team.  The Assistant Coach conducts practices for acac swim team members following the head coach’s guidelines. Applicant should have a strong swimming background (competing at the college level preferred) and strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults. Applicants must be hands-on, detail oriented, and foster a positive attitude within the Club. Must be certified with USA Swimming as a non-athlete coach member, passing required USA Swimming background and coaching tests. Applicants must be able to travel locally (and occasionally regionally) for swim meets. Duties:   Primary Coach- Red Team, Secondary Coach- Black Team Provide Swim Lessons for additional compensation The Red Team consists of 3 groups. They are entry level groups and consist of kids ages 4-11. Red 1 is an entry level group with our youngest kids learning the basics of strokes and correct technique.  Red 2 is our second group and has kids that know the strokes, have the basic techniques and understand the rules of swimming. They are in the beginning stages of complex sets and are able to read the clocks.  Red 3 is our older swimmers that know the strokes, can comprehend and carry out complex yardage sets, read the clocks and are  preparing for advanced groups and/or High School Swimming.  Additional help with assisting the Head Coach in the advanced groups will be discussed with interview. Hours: Monday: 4:00-6:30 PM Tuesday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Wednesday: 4:00-6:30 PM Thursday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Additional hours will be available if needed/able. The Preserve Piranhas Swim Team, Summer League Head Coach Summary : The Preserve Piranhas Swim Team is a summer league team located in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The Montrose Marlins Swim Team is a USA Swimming affiliated, year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. We are a nonprofit 501c3 organization under the direction of a volunteer parent run Board of Directors. We have 70-90 swimmers in six progressive training groups: Little Nemos, Zoomers, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Juniors/Seniors that train year-round with a staff of five certified coaches. These groups are designed to provide athletes with a fun team atmosphere where swimmers of similar ability and commitment practice together and TEAM is emphasized in a competitive setting. We also offer an adult Masters swim group. The Marlins have swimmers from beginning age group to nationally-ranked athletes. This includes numerous zone, sectional and even junior national level athletes. Many of our Marlins alumni have gone on to swim collegiately at top-ranked universities, including the Air Force Academy, Denver University and Northwestern University.
