Bellewood Country Club Aquatics Director Job description Job Summary Supervises safe, clean and appealing Club swimming facilities and oversees all swim programs. Job Tasks (Duties) Support all direct reports and subordinate staff in your department through continuous communication on what their challenges are and what they need to be happy, productive, successful employees of Bellewood Country Club. Reasonable corrective action plans should be put in place and communicated to the HR or General Manager to keep them properly informed. Be very familiar with and actively lead your team by the Club's Mission, Vision and Values. Hires, trains and supervises all lifeguards. Provides necessary orientation for lifeguards, including proper swim attire. Formulates weekly work schedules and rotation schedules for all pool employees. Provides staff payroll documentation to the Business Manager for accurate recording. Develops and implements a pool safety program. Purchases pool supplies and make recommendations to General Manager on other needs of the Aquatics facility. Maintains and keeps all necessary records concerning pool attendance, guest fees, pool chemicals, accident reports, problem-member reports, lifeguard and instructor schedules, etc. Works in conjunction with Green Superintendent to maintain proper chemical balance in pools and maintains mechanical equipment. Writes seasonal swim letters to Members about lesson dates, class times, and costs. Arranges a program of private and group swim lessons in a safe and responsible manner. Represents the Club in activities as required, available to Members and parents throughout the pool season. Plans, outlines and directs swim team, travels to meet Club swim team Members in conjunction with annual swim team schedule among the area Clubs. Communicates with parents on the children’s skill development, technique and general expectations with competitive growth. Plans and directs special pool events such as holidays in conjunction with the Events/Marketing Coordinator and Club newsletter. Reports to General Manager Supervises Lifeguards Physical Demands Frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands and fingers to feel, handle or carry; frequently required to reach with hands and arms; to climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. An employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Additional Requirements The Aquatics Director must be certified in Water Safety Instruction (WSI), CPR, AED, and First Aid. Must have the ability to work various shifts, may include some nights, weekends, and holidays.
