Creating a training plan and conducting workouts geared towards maximizing the swimmer's potential for primary training groups of highly committed 12 & Unders while overseeing the developmental 14 & Under program. Working with all coaches to ensure that athletes 12 & under are being prepared for long-term progression through the team. Performing administrative functions including, but not limited to, swim meet entries, parent and athletes meetings, attend weekend swim meets as scheduled, coaching at swim meets and management of team rosters. Running clinics and camps and develop cohesive lesson program to feed into the developmental half of the swim team. Helping to coordinate/manage corporate functions at the health club. Assistant Swim Coach- Lead Senior Coach
acac is seeking a lead competitive coach to work primarily with our senior swimmers in our competitive team. acac also offers USMS Masters Swimming, a non competitive swim program and a summer recreational swim team.  The Assistant Coach conducts practices for acac swim team members following the head coach’s guidelines. The Assistant Coach works with children of different ages and ability levels so that they progress effectively to higher levels of swimming. Essential Functions and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned): On deck coaching primarily weekday mornings 5:00 -8:00am (Tuesday - Friday, some Saturdays). Other shifts may become available. Responsible for daily, weekly and season planning for the Senior group with the Head Coach and may attend 1 - 2 meets a month. Plans and conducts effective and progressive practices (in water and dryland) on a solo platform, with assistance from Head Coach. Maintains vigilance while conducting practice in order to maintain constant control of the group and emphasize safety at all times. Safety is our number one concern, thus acac swim team keeps Safe Sport at the forefront of our program. Successful completion of all certifications required by USA swimming, The ability to address swimmers of various skill levels as well as coordinate effective practices for all parties in attendance. Promote the sport of swimming in a positive and enthusiastic manner to swimmers, their families and our club members. Understand and address that swimming is a lifelong sport and thus educate participants the healthy benefits of technically proficient strokes. Assistant Head Coach-Novice Groups Head Coach
The Assistant Coach Position will report directly the Club Owner and Head Coach. Applicant should have a strong swimming background (competing at the college level preferred) and strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults. Applicants must be hands-on, detail oriented, and foster a positive attitude within the Club. Must be certified with USA Swimming as a non-athlete coach member, passing required USA Swimming background and coaching tests. Applicants must be able to travel locally (and occasionally regionally) for swim meets. Duties:   Primary Coach- Red Team, Secondary Coach- Black Team Provide Swim Lessons for additional compensation The Red Team consists of 3 groups. They are entry level groups and consist of kids ages 4-11. Red 1 is an entry level group with our youngest kids learning the basics of strokes and correct technique.  Red 2 is our second group and has kids that know the strokes, have the basic techniques and understand the rules of swimming. They are in the beginning stages of complex sets and are able to read the clocks.  Red 3 is our older swimmers that know the strokes, can comprehend and carry out complex yardage sets, read the clocks and are  preparing for advanced groups and/or High School Swimming.  Additional help with assisting the Head Coach in the advanced groups will be discussed with interview. Hours: Monday: 4:00-6:30 PM Tuesday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Wednesday: 4:00-6:30 PM Thursday: 4:00- 6:30 PM Additional hours will be available if needed/able. Expected to attend Swim Meets as primary Club coach if needed. Expect 6-8 hours per each day of the meet. Assistant Age Group Coaching Position
We are looking for an assistant age group coach to start with our club May 2020. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, enthusiastic and good with younger, beginning swimmers. We are located in Farmington, NM.  We are a year-round competitive age group swim team. Our swimmers range from age 5- 18 primarily with varying levels of abilities. Hours would be Monday-Friday 5:45 pm-7:45 pm in addition to morning practice during summer months 7:00 am-9:00 am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Some weekend travel to meets as needed. The MAC (Multnomah Athletic Club) is looking for a confident coach with strong leadership skills to motivate and enhance our Novice program, who is passionate about working with 12&Unders, but is comfortable coaching all levels.  This coach is responsible for bridging the lesson program with the competitive program and developing swimming as a lifelong skill.  This coach needs to be able to have good decision making skills that are in the best interest of the athlete and the program and be able to create a safe and positive environment in order for our athletes to be able to reach their potential. Empowered to Lead swimmers to excellence in competition Provide excellent customer service on a daily basis Keep up on personal professional advancement Communicate with members as needed, via email, phone, in person meetings, etc. Develop and regularly use motivational tools for swimmers Continually enhance personal squad curriculum and use the latest proven techniques and industry trends Teach swimmers proper sportsmanship conduct Essential Job Functions Leads and monitors practice sessions for squads assigned by Swim Team Head Coach, including land training. Coaches, develops, encourages and inspires swimmers toward competitive excellence. Establishes an environment that fosters positive attitudes, encourages self-discipline, sportsmanship and responsibility. Travels with squad to attend meets and coordinates activities of team members at swim meets. Communicates with swimmers, parents and staff. Provides meet information to swimmers such as times, dates, locations and cost, well in advance of competition. Processes MAC meet entries, results, and attendance. Utilizes Team Manager and Team Unify for squad communication and administration. Promotes member participation in aquatics department programs. Handles emergencies, injuries and illness as they arise in partnership with the lifeguard staff. Submits accurate expense records for meets, travel and equipment within budgetary guidelines and procedures. Makes recommendations to the Swim Team Head Coach and assists with purchasing swim team equipment. Attends regularly scheduled coaches and aquatics staff meetings. Assists coaching staff in developing annual swim meet schedule. Adheres to all USA Swimming rules and regulations. Promotes and adheres to the MAC code of conduct for self and athletes. Complies with all club safety policies and procedures, demonstrating safe work practices. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Secondary Functions Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Essential Tools, Equipment, Vehicles, and/or Machinery Essential job functions require the use of a computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, stopwatch and knowledge of other miscellaneous athletic training equipment. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Essential job functions require speaking, hearing, seeing, walking, sitting, standing, and swimming. Qualifications Successful completion of all required and approved USA Swimming Safety courses. (CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches and First Aid, Safe Sport and background checks every 2 years) Completion of concussion management training within 60 days of employment. Coaching member in good standing of USA Swimming. Experience in a competitive swim environment required. At least 3 years coaching experience preferred. Working knowledge of computer applications including Team Manager, Team Unify, word processing and spreadsheets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience or ability in establishing and maintaining effective communication with staff and members. Ability to effectively motivate membership. Ability to perform the essential job functions.
