Responsibilities:   Must be Instructor Ready: uniform, pocket face mask/gloves, whistle and rescue tube. Continuous and active scanning of the pool. Ensure instructional equipment remains in good condition; have all equipment ready prior to classes and put away after. Know and understand the Emergency Action Plan and Emergency Evacuation Routes. Enforce aquatics safety rules consistently and fairly. Perform second duties, as requested, only when not lifeguarding. Maintain positive relationships with members and staff. Follow the directions of the YMCA of Greater New York aquatic supervisors, in accordance with the YMCA aquatic standards. Must attain the YMCA Lifeguard certification within 90 days of hire. Maintain certification level of physical and mental readiness.  Responsible for recertification before expiration. Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings and special events. Qualifications:      Must be 17 years of age or older. High School diploma or equivalent, desired. Current YMCA Lifeguard certification or equivalent. Current Basic Life Support, First Aid and Emergency Oxygen certifications. Demonstrate swim strokes, lifeguard rescues and BLS/BFA/EO skills. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Excellent hospitality skills. Have you been lifeguarding, competing on the swim team, or working at an aquatics center in the past? SeaVentures is hiring amazing swim instructors to join our aquatics family in Alpharetta, GA. Work in a team-based environment teaching the cutest kids in Atlanta how to swim. Our instructors teach classes for students ages 3 months old all the way to adult, in a variety of environments: group classes, private lessons, and semi-private lessons. With our 40 hour training program, you will learn how to build meaningful relationships with clients as a means for making swimming an enjoyable experience for all levels and ages of students. As our new Head Lifeguard you will: Supervise a Lifeguard staff of 20 – 25 Work 20-25 hours as a Lifeguard Administrative work 15-20 hours per week Schedule lifeguard staff Maintain certification records of all LG staff Help the Aquatics Manager with training Serves as the manager on deck during events and/or swim meets Maintain watch over the pool area ensuring a secure and safe environment Employ accident prevention by enforcing pool rules and regulations Respond to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by club policy Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics center Required Qualifications: Minimum of three years of Lifeguarding experience Minimum of one year of aquatics supervision Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (basic level) Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 90 days of hire   Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Five years of lifeguarding and/or aquatics supervision experience American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire Physical Requirements: Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday  Frequent walking and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily Ability to be in water for long periods during the day  

We're seeking a Swim Instructor and Lifeguard to assist at our fitness center. As our new Swim Instructor and Lifeguard you will:    Maintain watch over the pool area ensuring a secure and safe environment     Employ accident prevention by enforcing pool rules and regulations     Respond to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by club policy    Teach private & group swim lesson to kids and adults of all abilities    Assist in the development, implementation and marketing of innovative swim programs    Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics center     Other tasks as assigned Required Qualifications: Must be a minimum of 16 years of age Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire Preferred Qualifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons
