Head Age Group Coach/Aquatics Supervisor Tuesday – Saturday   The JCC Bridgewater Tide (BWTD), located in Bridgewater, NJ, is seeking a full-time swim coach and Aquatics Supervisor to be the primary coach for our Tidal Waves, Bronze, and Senior group programs. The Tidal Waves and Bronze groups are the base of our program, and it is a great opportunity to instruct new swimmers and to get them engaged in the sport. The Senior group is our second-highest level group and is full of high school swimmers looking to improve. The Head Age Group coach will also assist in tasks in the Aquatics Department, as well as oversee the Summer Pool Club.   BWTD is a swiftly growing and improving program, which has grown from less than 90 swimmers in 2017 to a maximum of 140 swimmers in the summer of 2019 with ability levels ranging from novice to AAA level swimmers. We are also New Jersey’s first and only SafeSport-recognized program. We have a close-knit, hardworking staff that is proud of our success, but are always looking to improve. Weekend and daytime hours required in coordination with the Director. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Uphold and exemplify high standards of customer service. Assist in recruitment, training, development, and evaluation of aquatics staff.  Coordinate substitute procedures for staff; record all changes and maintain up-to-date staff schedule. As our new Head Lifeguard you will: Supervise a Lifeguard staff of 20 – 25 Work 20-25 hours as a Lifeguard Administrative work 15-20 hours per week Schedule lifeguard staff Maintain certification records of all LG staff Help the Aquatics Manager with training Serves as the manager on deck during events and/or swim meets Maintain watch over the pool area ensuring a secure and safe environment Employ accident prevention by enforcing pool rules and regulations Respond to all injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by club policy Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatics center Required Qualifications: Minimum of three years of Lifeguarding experience Minimum of one year of aquatics supervision Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification (basic level) Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification or the ability to obtain the certification within 90 days of hire Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Five years of lifeguarding and/or aquatics supervision experience American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire Physical Requirements: Candidates applying for this position should be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday  Frequent walking and demonstrating and assisting with exercise movements; bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling and squatting are movements performed daily Ability to be in water for long periods during the day
