The East Coast Aquatic Club (ECAC), located in Delray Beach, Florida, is searching for a qualified Age Group coach. Delray Beach is located in the South East coast of Florida, approximately 25 minutes south of West Palm Beach. The ECAC swim program is a young yet very successful age group program. It is one of the fastest growing teams in the area with approximately 100 members. For more information about ECAC, please visit our website at www.swimecac.com Facility: ECAC is a year-round program training at the Aqua Crest Pool only 2 miles from the beach. It is an 8 lane 50 Meter X 25 yard pool on the east side and 25 meters on the west side. ECAC is engaged in a long-term contract with the Palm Beach County for pool usage. Job Responsibilities: The Age group coach is responsible for selective groups of children 9-14 years old. The coach is responsible for writing daily practices, dry land and preparing seasonal plans for his/her groups, according to club philosophies. He/She will emphasize teaching all aspects of swimming with focus on stroke technique and good work ethics while making great efforts to achieve success at the age group level. Qualifications: The successful candidate should have at least 3 years of coaching experience with USA Swimming or another FINA federation. He/ She must have completed the background check and safe sport (athlete protection) program, and must be in good standings with USA Swimming. The candidate should be a high energy, positive person, with great communication skills, working well with swimmers, parents and other coaching staff. This is a part time position. Salary is competitive based on experience with potential to earn more through private lessons, swim camps, etc... The position is available immediately, but will be filled by the most qualified and fitting applicant. Practice times are from: 4:00-7:00pm (Monday through Friday) and 8:30-10:30am (Saturday) with extended hours during summer and holidays. As our new Swim Instructor you will: Teach various levels and age groups in accordance with the sites instructional guidelines Plan lessons, select appropriate drills, and evaluate the student’s progress  Present proper demonstrations and explain skills, analyze and correct performance, minimize fear, and use appropriate teaching devices Maintain a safe and positive teaching environment Attend all in-service trainings Maintain accurate records and prepare course completion certificates Perform all swimming strokes and skills taught in all levels Effectively communicate each student’s progress either to the student directly, or to the student’s parents where appropriate  Project and promote a professional image  Explain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patrons Attend all in-service trainings Other tasks as assigned Required Qualifications: Must be a minimum of 16 years of age Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience lifeguarding or teaching swim lessons
