Emma is a passionate communicator with a proven track-record of having strong attention to detail, being self-driven, managing time effectively and being able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.  She has spent her career in the communications space and is widely recognized as a team player and having a strong work ethic in everything that she does. Her knowledge of building and maintaining media relationships and experience in public relations make her a qualified candidate across the communications landscape. In addition, Emma is incredibly organized and has experience working in a fast-paced environment due to her employment with Coyne PR and history with the Clemson University Athletic Department. She thrives in team environments and her position as an assistant account executive has provided her with extensive experience in interpersonal communication and delivering high-quality work. Any opportunity to serve as a media contact for USA Swimming and assist the Communications team in preparing communications strategies and executing media operations greatly excites her. Emma would love to bring her passion for swimming and experience across the communications and public relations landscape to help do just that.

Former member of the CAL men's swim team (2011-2016). 2x American Record Holder, 5x NCAA Div I National Champion, 2x NCAA Div I National Team Champion, 15x NCAA All-American, and was on USA National teams (2009-2011). Over the past 4 years I have served as the National Group Assistant Coach and the Senior Group Lead Coach at Scottsdale Aquatic Club. This past August I was given the reigns Senior Group. Through mindful healthy program of individual personal development, mental health practices, overall athlete development all while making each individual feel 'seen' and welcomed, the group grew from a roster size of 16 in August, to 45+ by the end of March. I did not have the best experience in my swimming career which also spilled over into my overall development as a human being; this was much in part to a coach I had in my life. To which my driving force in why I do what I do is: "I never want an athlete to feel the way I felt growing up". 

Hi my name is Alyssa Muniz, I am a swim coach here in Hawaii but will be relocating to Pensacola Florida in July.  I was a college swimmer at a D2 school for 4 years.  I have been coaching swimming for about 7 years.  I have taught all ages of swimmers and coached them. I have signed several athletes to division 1 and 2 schools.

Passionate and innovative swim coach with 10+ years of experience with advance training in strength & conditioning coaching for all age group levels. Technically competent in all facets of coaching swim teams at regional, national and international level competitive events with a strong focus on the short, medium and long term progression and individual development of each swimmer in the program. I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills gained through my coaching experience of athletes from different ages and nationalities. I have a keen insight for innovation, and as such, I developed a biomechanics analysis video tool to gain the maximum performance for each athlete. I am also qualified to teach first aid and basic life saving’s techniques.

I am a big believer in the idea of how one's body feels, and what is going through one's mind before and after each race.  Helping with ideas, race strategy and mental positivity is one of my biggest focus points as a coach. When getting to the heart of the season in regards to racing, meets and practice there is no other place I would rather be than on the pool deck.  Being able to coach everyday, talking to the team and getting to know them/what they want to work on throughout the practice, week or even the season really helps me focus on what should be prioritized when writing for practice groups.  I have had the great fortune to work with wonderful athletes, and they are a huge reason why I love coaching.  Being able to connect with them and just help when they are on and off the pool deck really helps make that connection stronger, and also helps build trust between myself and the team.

I have been the BLA/Dolphin Aquatics’ Program Director since 1996.
