I currently work as a swim and cross country coach and facility operations assistant at Wichita State. Here I have utilized and strengthened my skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Google Docs, sheets, and slides. A majority of my time is put into writing practice, recruiting athletes, running social media platforms and scouting teams for upcoming competitions. During this time, I have assisted the team(s) in winning 8 League titles, break 8 school records, 2 league records and have sent several athletes into collegiate swimming. Coming off my master's in business administration, I enjoy using team bonding activities and goal-setting meetings to help build community amongst the team and give everyone the understanding that they play a role in the success of the team. Furthermore, I have logged 600 hours with the Athletic Director of Derby High School this last semester.   One of my most recent experiences with college athletics was my time in College as an assistant swim coach for the boys and girls swim team. During my time in this position, I assisted the head coach in writing practices, running social media accounts, recruiting athletes for the program and assisting in all of the day to day activities of the head coach. I swam for Tabor college for 4 years and had the privilege of being the team captain for 3 of those years. My time on the team was utilized in qualifying for nationals my last 3 years, planning and budgeting a training trip and running all team bonding activities. Outside of coaching and swimming, I had the opportunity of assisting the sport information director at Tabor. I worked with the assistant sports information director during football games where I would help keep statistics for football games, baseball games, and even a basketball game.    My most recent experience in athletics comes from my time shadowing the Athletic Director of Derby High School. During my time there, I have done many tasks. Derby High School is currently in the 6A class with a total of 2,172 students. Because of its size, there is a lot to manage when it comes to game day management. During my time under the Athletic Director, I helped with game day management. This included tasks such as working security, ticketing, monitoring of students, preparing the referee's waiting area, attending to both home and away teams' locker rooms, and setting up the field for homecoming activities. While football took up a lot of my time, there were several other responsibilities that were asked of me. I assisted the Athletic Director in running the home regionals tennis meet, this included: sitting in on the coach's ranking meeting, assisting in entering athletes' names and records in the bracket, monitoring of the games, and providing water to athletes and hospitality to the coaches.

Jeremiah Samudio
My name is Jeremiah Samudio, and swimming has been a core part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a lifelong swimmer with competitive experience, I’ve developed not only strong technical skills in the water but also a deep appreciation for the discipline, mindset, and passion the sport requires. I continue to swim actively, which helps me stay connected to the training process and gives me valuable insight when working with others. What drives me is the opportunity to help others discover the same love I have for swimming. I’m a naturally positive, self-motivated individual who thrives on building people up, creating a supportive environment, and leading by example. Whether it’s teaching fundamentals or refining technique, I take pride in meeting swimmers where they are and helping them grow with patience, encouragement, and energy. I’m not just pursuing a job in swimming—I’m pursuing a way to live what I love and to inspire that same love in others.
