When it comes to my coaching philosophy.  I am a big believer in the idea of how one's body feels, and what is going through one's mind before and after each race.  Helping with ideas, race strategy and mental positivity is one of my biggest focus points as a coach. When getting to the heart of the season in regards to racing, meets and practice there is no other place I would rather be than on the pool deck.  Being able to coach everyday, talking to the team and getting to know them/what they want to work on throughout the practice, week or even the season really helps me focus on what should be prioritized when writing for practice groups.  I have had the great fortune to work with wonderful athletes, and they are a huge reason why I love coaching.  Being able to connect with them and just help when they are on and off the pool deck really helps make that connection stronger, and also helps build trust between myself and the team

My name is Jeremiah Samudio, and swimming has been a core part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a lifelong swimmer with competitive experience, I’ve developed not only strong technical skills in the water but also a deep appreciation for the discipline, mindset, and passion the sport requires. I continue to swim actively, which helps me stay connected to the training process and gives me valuable insight when working with others. What drives me is the opportunity to help others discover the same love I have for swimming. I’m a naturally positive, self-motivated individual who thrives on building people up, creating a supportive environment, and leading by example. Whether it’s teaching fundamentals or refining technique, I take pride in meeting swimmers where they are and helping them grow with patience, encouragement, and energy. As Head Coach at CYA since 2018, I have overseen all aspects of the swim programs, including practice planning, competition strategy, and swimmer development. Under my leadership, our team has cultivated a positive, athlete-centered culture that emphasizes growth, teamwork, and excellence. Notably, I have guided swimmers to achieve milestones at USA Swimming competitions, while also mentoring assistant coaches and ensuring compliance with national standards. My professional background is complemented by certifications, including USA Swimming’s Silver Level Coach credential, and a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Law from Liberty University, where I was a member of the Men’s Swimming and Diving team.
