My name is Madeline McKim (Maddie), and I am a recent graduate from Loyola Marymount University. Growing up in a military family, I moved often and had a wide variety of life and swimming experiences, including learning from many coaches and connecting with many teams. It is as a result of these opportunities that I developed a fondness for the competitive swimming industry. My experience with swimming taught me how integral athletic activities are for the well being of individuals and the development of important life skills, such as adaptability and collaboration. In high school, I worked as a summer swim instructor, and during my first year of college, while I was home due to school covid-19 closures, I worked as an Age Group/Pre-Team coach with my previous club. It was in these positions I learned about coaching and the organization of athletics. While pursuing my degree at LMU, I worked as a private swim instructor and a lifeguard to continue learning more about coaching and athletic management. In Spring of 2024, I graduated with Summa Cum Laude and a bachelor's degree in communication studies and a minor in business administration. Connecting the studies of communication within organizations and the investigation of management and business goals, I intend to utilize both fields of study to grow within my career in athletics.

With twelve years of comprehensive experience as a swim coach, physical education teacher, and underwater sports coach, coupled with a decade-long tenure as an elite swimming athlete, I bring a multifaceted approach to athlete development and team leadership. My extensive background includes national and international achievements as an athlete and a coach, underpinned by scientific approaches and strong communication skills with athletes and parents. I excel in providing leadership to colleagues and fostering teamwork across various departments within sports clubs. Additionally, my expertise extends to leveraging Google Education Tools as a Google Licensed Educator and utilizing advanced video analysis techniques to optimize swimmer performance.

Hello! My name is Jackson Borchers, and I am looking for a coaching position. This would be my first official time coaching; however, I do have experience running a Swim Club from college and many years of experience in the water. I will be a Graduate Student at Towson University this fall!

I am grateful for each and every swimmer that I have been able to coach thus far, and I am hopeful that there will be many more to come. I would consider my greatest strengths as a coach and swim instructor to be my patience, compassion, and drive when it comes to all things swimming. I take pride in having been there every step of the way for many of my current swimmers, and I greatly enjoy being a part of my athletes' successes- no matter when our paths cross. I've been lucky enough to work with all age groups with swimming, and it is one of my main goals as a coach to continue to grow in my experience and my knowledge while guiding young athletes to meet their goals. Swimming has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and I hope to feed that passion in other athletes so that they can love and enjoy it just as much as I have.

Throughout my years of being in the swimming community I have had the privilege of coaching four years at the high school level, six years at the club level and finally making the move to coaching at the collegiate level for DePauw University for three years. All of these experiences have been fundamental in helping me see that coaching is the career path that I have chosen for my future. Everything I have learned and experienced comes from the fifteen years of swimming competitively, my years as a high school swimmer, and for my years as a collegiate athlete in swimming and water polo. Throughout my years as an athlete, I have been able to experience many different styles of coaching, techniques and understanding of new ways to teach all strokes.  I have had the pleasure of working with many different coaches and the styles they all have.  Through my prior experience as an athlete and as an assistant coach.  I have learned many lessons and techniques that have helped me be an excellent and proficient coach - all of which I employ in my coaching duties today. Among others these include teaching proper stroke technique, instilling a winning work ethic, running drills to maximize conditioning, helping maintain a healthy mental attitude and explaining race strategies for many of the events.
