When it comes to my coaching philosophy.  I am a big believer in the idea of how one's body feels, and what is going through one's mind before and after each race.  Helping with ideas, race strategy and mental positivity is one of my biggest focus points as a coach. When getting to the heart of the season in regards to racing, meets and practice there is no other place I would rather be than on the pool deck.  Being able to coach everyday, talking to the team and getting to know them/what they want to work on throughout the practice, week or even the season really helps me focus on what should be prioritized when writing for practice groups.  I have had the great fortune to work with wonderful athletes, and they are a huge reason why I love coaching.  Being able to connect with them and just help when they are on and off the pool deck really helps make that connection stronger, and also helps build trust between myself and the team

Currently in my final year of the Master’s program in STAPS Sport Management, specializing in International Sport Administration at Lille, I am writing to apply for an internship in the Event Management sector at World Aquatics. My decision to apply stems from my desire to put into practice the skills acquired during my studies, my passion for water sports, and my eagerness to contribute to the success of your projects. My academic journey demonstrates my commitment and passion for sports, as well as my rigor and ability to perform in demanding environments. After obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Applied Foreign Languages from the University of Lille with an average of 15.1 in my first year and being the top of my class in the second year with an average of 15.2, I continued my studies through a one-year Erasmus exchange program in Bari, Italy. This experience was academically successful, with an average of 16, and allowed me to strengthen my level of Italian and develop an international perspective. Now, in my final year of the Master’s program in STAPS Sport Management, where I was the top of my class in the first year, I am consolidating my skills in sports management, specializing in event management, communication, and marketing. A strong passion for languages drives me; I am bilingual in Italian, have a C1 level in English and Spanish, and an A1 level in Dutch. These diverse language skills provide me with valuable versatility and will be a major asset. My professional experiences at Decathlon, including a 5-month internship as a department manager in Seville Center (Spain) and as a sales advisor at Decathlon Campus (France), have allowed me to develop my versatility, autonomy, and ability to work in a team, crucial skills in the professional world. During this internship, I was responsible for writing the commercial policy for the water sports department and managing a team of 6 people, while also improving my Spanish skills. My commitment as a volunteer at my Triathlon Club in Liévin since a young age reflects my passion for sports and my willingness to contribute to the success of sporting events. I have recently expanded my responsibilities by heading the communication department and participating in the logistics and preparation of major international events such as the European Cup and the World Indoor Triathlon Championship. My passion for sports, particularly swimming, extends beyond my studies. Since adolescence, I have been involved in a triathlon sports section and a swimming club, accumulating up to 18 hours of sport per week. This experience has allowed me to compete in the World Championships and several French Championships, demonstrating my perseverance, discipline, and ability to excel in high-level competitions. I am writing to express my strong interest in joining USA Swimming as a full-time or part-time staff.  I've been an avid swimmer since my childhood. I grew up in Turkey, and have been encourage to swim, coached by a family friend. But I've been never given the chance to compete due to environmental and financial restrictions.  I started my son with swim lessons when he was 6 months old. He's now swimming in a local team in DFW Area, and just made it to the competitive team. I couldn't be more proud. I take him to his practices daily and volunteer whenever I can with his team. I still swim, 3-4 times a week, and sometimes with my son, who can now easily beat me.  I have B.S. in Computer Engineering with strong technical and management experience of 25+ years. My qualifications to succeed in this position include: ●      I led professional staff through large-scale projects during my career, ●      I have successfully analyzed business requirements, designed, developed, and supported live-use applications, ●      I carried an innovative approach while managing high-scale programs, by adapting to changes, considering a wide range of ideas from cross-functional teams, and making data-driven decisions, ●      I work in high-pressured environments where excellence is the key to success, ●      I manage my time, and plan, organize , and prioritize the tasks effectively, ●      I communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with different cultures and technical knowledge levels, ●      I establish effective work relationships with subordinates and my co-workers, and I provide exceptional customer service for all customers, ●      I am an Agilist, experienced in software development life cycle, database systems concepts, and standards, and hand-on experience in newer technologies such as AWS, API. My name is Madeline McKim (Maddie), and I am a recent graduate from Loyola Marymount University. Growing up in a military family, I moved often and had a wide variety of life and swimming experiences, including learning from many coaches and connecting with many teams. It is as a result of these opportunities that I developed a fondness for the competitive swimming industry. My experience with swimming taught me how integral athletic activities are for the well being of individuals and the development of important life skills, such as adaptability and collaboration. In high school, I worked as a summer swim instructor, and during my first year of college, while I was home due to school covid-19 closures, I worked as an Age Group/Pre-Team coach with my previous club. It was in these positions I learned about coaching and the organization of athletics. While pursuing my degree at LMU, I worked as a private swim instructor and a lifeguard to continue learning more about coaching and athletic management. In Spring of 2024, I graduated with Summa Cum Laude and a bachelor's degree in communication studies and a minor in business administration. Connecting the studies of communication within organizations and the investigation of management and business goals, I intend to utilize both fields of study to grow within my career in athletics.
