JOB QUALIFICATIONS: To apply candidate must have or be willing to obtain Alaska Coaching Certification and verification of approved concussions awareness course. An experienced swim coach who will assist in the development of a total high school program. Must be able to work as a team leader, and coordinate program with the building wide academic and co-curricular programs. Should have experience in coaching swimming and have current CPR and first aid certification. Must have or be willing to obtain Alaska Coaching Certification. JOB DESCRIPTION: The coach will be responsible for implement a coaching philosophy that promotes the expectations of high school athletics and activities. Will be responsible for training athletes and preparing them for interscholastic competition and developing their skills at a competitive level. Will be responsible for the inventory, ordering, program budget, and program evaluation. Will enforce discipline, nurture student needs, and model sportsman-like behavior at all times. Will work within the KPSAA rules and philosophy for extracurricular activities as stated in the KPSAA manual. Work under direct supervision of the building administrator. Salary is $3,747.18 (Negotiations in progress) for swim season (early Aug. - early Nov.). The identified candidate would also likely have the opportunity to earn an additional, competitive hourly wage as an assistant coach with the Kachemak Swim Club, a year-round club of approximately 100 swimmers ages 5-19.
