The Blue Wave Swim Team is a USA Swimming year-round competitive swim team sponsored by Ashburn Village offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for swimmers of all ages and abilities. As a member club of Potomac Valley Swimming, the goal of BLUE WAVE it is our mission to develop extraordinary people through the dedication of mastery in the sport of swimming. We do this by providing every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability. From beginners to Senior level and everyone in between, we create an environment where excellence is inevitable and fun!

When a young person becomes a member of the BLUE WAVE Swim Team he/she learns the values of sportsmanship and teamwork as well as learns to become a complete swimmer, accomplished in all the competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Swimming, through BLUE WAVE, provides physical, emotional and intellectual skills that will last a lifetime.

We encourage everyone to accept risks and endure failings. We do this by creating situations that present the opportunity for success. Throught this we teach our athletes to embrace these opportunities and not fear the outcome.

Perseverance is the backbone of success in any endeavor in life. One cannot succeed at the highest levels without enduring some setbacks. These difficult times can create a lack of faith, low self-esteem and an obvious drop in enthusiasm. Perseverance is the quality that transcends these difficult times. It allows the individual to find the true strength of their character.

The BLUE WAVE Swim Team uses the sport of swimming to prepare the individual for the challenges they will face in life.

The Team is supported by the BLUE WAVE Boosters, Inc., a non-profit run by a Board comprising parents and the head coach. The Board coordinates fundraising and other club activities. All parents are encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers
