The Pocono Family YMCA “Piranhas” Competitive Swim Team was established in 1976 and has grown into a multi level competitive and developmental programs.

Mission Statement
The Pocono Family YMCA Piranhas swim team offers the opportunity for swimmers of all abilities and ages to achieve their highest potential as individuals and competitive swimmers in a fun, family friendly environment. The Pocono YMCA Piranhas Swim Team is committed to providing a safe environment for all participants. To do so we have athlete protection policies and guidelines in place and follows all SafeSport guidlines.

Vision Statement
The Pocono Family YMCA Swim Team strives to be the premier swimming program in the Poconos by increasing awareness in the community and fostering children from their first step into the pool through college.  It is our goal to have a welcoming environment where families actively participate in the success and growth of the team.  We seek not only to produce outstanding athletes but more importantly good citizens in the community who understand the importance of giving.

The main goals of our program revolve around the YMCA 4 core values of Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility. In addition our goal is achieve over - all physical fitness for all of our members in and out of the pool. Our training involve many basic exercises that help fight the on-going nation wide issue of childhood obesity.
