NTA was established in 1982 and is a USA Swimming Bronze Medal club as well as Safe Sport USA Swimming recognition club with 480+ athletes based on the north side of Chicago, Illinois. NTA is a leader in competitive swimming and water polo in Illinois and has developed many Collegiate, National, and Olympic Trials athletes and water polo players. NTA operates out of multiple practice facilities. NTA is a 501(c)(3) board-directed and parent supported organization committed to:  

• Developing each athlete’s potential to the fullest by teaching stroke techniques, building endurance and skills for racing, and motivating each athlete to achieve his or her best.
• Providing athletes an opportunity to engage in a wholesome, lifesaving, lifetime activity.
• Promoting physical fitness and good patterns of physical development while encouraging proper conditioning and health habits.
• Providing opportunities for social, emotional, and educational development and encouraging peer and family participation. 
• Promoting the involvement in age-group programs and providing an opportunity for members to compete in organized swimming competitions. 

 NTA stresses the development of the whole athlete in and out of the pool.
