Lakeside Aquatic Club

Lakeside Aquatic Club (LAC) is a competitive youth swim team that brings all levels of swimming to the area, from learn-to-swim programs to national level development. With over 1,100 swimmers, LAC is one of the largest and most successful teams in the state of Texas. LAC swimmers have achieved success at the highest national levels our sport has to offer. Among LAC's accomplishments: Olympic Trials and Paralympic Trials qualifiers, NCAA champions, and High School state champions.

LAC can claim the following accolades: 

* USA SWIMMING GOLD MEDAL CLUB - a quality designation awarded to only 20 of the approximately 3,000 USA Swimming clubs in the country

* CONSISTENTLY FINISHES IN THE TOP 3 AT TAGS (Texas 14u state champs meet), higher than other teams in north Texas

* VIRTUAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RANKING OF 16TH IN THE COUNTRY, * measures clubs against one another and encourages the development of well-rounded competitive athletes. LAC has been in the top 25 for the last 3 years and ranked higher than all north Texas teams for the last 3 years.

Founded in 1982, LAC operates in 5 facilities in 3 areas in North East Tarrant County and Southern Denton County: The Colony, Flower Mound/Lewisville and Keller. As a coach-run, board-supported organization, we employ 11 full time and 28 part-time employees, all of whom undergo background checks, athlete protection training, and the necessary safety and instructional courses required by USA Swimming and optional certifications from the American Swim Coaches Association.

Lakeside Aquatic Club is a Gold Medal Club that is a coach directed, board supported, nationally competitive swim team with 5 different locations and over 900 swimmers on the competitive, stroke, and lesson programs.  Our 30 year tradition of excellence in USA Swimming is highlighted by our multi-year Gold Medal  Team and top 15 Virtual Club Championship finish.  Our team is focused on developing high level senior swimmers through a quality age group program focused on technique and aerobic development.  LAC wants  to continue to build on our tradition of being a top age group and senior program in the state of Texas.  Over the last 6 years, our team has finished in the Top 5 at our Short Course and Long Course Texas Age Group Championships (TAGS), and a first place finish this last Short Course season. We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Dryland coach.  We are looking for someone to implement our Dryland exercise program for swimmers ranging from 10-18 years old.  This person would be working directly with our Dryland Coordinator to run trainings at their respective site in the afternoon/ evenings. Responsibilities: Conduct - 15-45 minute dryland/ weight workouts 3-4 times an evening 5-6 days per week for approximately 15-20 hours a week. Plan, prepare, and conduct dryland practices in conjunction with team's Dryland Coordinator and accordance with the LAC curriculum. Create smaller workout groups within the larger group for the purpose of providing more challenging workouts to all swimmers in the group   Qualifications: Certified in Group Exercise, Personal Training, or working towards a degree in the area of fitness. Energetic, patient and gives simple instructions. We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized age group coach.  We are looking for someone who is dedicated to developing  quality age group swimmers through our established curriculum focused on fundamental stroke technique.  This coach will be working directly with our Head Age Group Coach to establish technically efficient swimmers. Responsibilities: Conduct - 5-6 workouts per week for approximately 25-30 hours a week. Attends 1-2 swim meets a month. Plan, prepare, and conduct team practices in accordance with the LAC curriculum. Prepare, approve and submit swimmers’ meet entries. Recommend practice level placement and changes for all swimmers in currently in practice groups and in one group below current training group. Assist other coaches/instructors as needed within LAC, and communicate regularly with counterpart group coaches at each site. Creates smaller workout groups within the larger group for the purpose of providing more challenging workouts to all swimmers in the group   Qualifications: College Degree (preferred) One year competitive swim coaching experience (preferred) ASCA Level 2 Certified Coach (preferred) 5 years competitive swimming experience (preferred) Energetic, patient and gives simple instructions.
