Job Description

Saw Mill Club Storm Aquatics is a competitive USA Swimming Team located in Mount Kisco, NY. The team has 120+ active members, ranging from Novice to Junior National level swimmers. The Philosophy of the team is Athlete-centered, Coach-directed, and Parent-supported.

The Position

We are looking to hire a Head Age Coach/Business Manager that would be responsible for ensuring the recruiting, development, and performance of the Storm Aquatics program. The position reports directly to the Head Coach. Other duties include running Registration and Billing, as well as managing communications through the Team Unify site.

General Job Duties

Coaching Duties

*            Lead Age Group and Masters Coach

*            Designs and implements season plan for teaching and training

*            Designs and implements daily practices for assigned groups

*            Attends and engages in all scheduled practices

*            Evaluates seasonal and daily practices

*            Assists with recruitment and retention of athletes

*            Assistant coach for other groups as assigned by Head Coach

*            Implements training and teaching progressions developed by Head Coach and staff

*            Motivates and participates in goal setting to help athletes reach potential

*            Recommends individual and relay events for all meets for athletes

*            Schedules, attends and engages in meets as assigned by Head Coach

*            Participates in Parent Education with Head Coach

*            Maintain daily attendance records for training groups

Administrative Duties

*            Responsible for Registration and Billing through the Team Unify System

*            Works with Head Coach to execute the vision, mission, and objectives of the team

*            Monthly written reports to the Head Coach

*            Communicates regularly with the Head Coach

*            Collaborates and Cooperates with Board members

*            Communicates with membership via phone, email, text and team website

*            Attends bi-annual Metropolitan Swimming meetings

*            Assists with fundraising activities as needed

*            Responds promptly to all swimmer/parent/coach communication

*            Other duties as assigned by Head Coach as needed

Preferred qualifications include:

*            Coaching membership in good standing with USA Swimming

*            A college degree (preferred, but not required)

*            Coaching experience that illustrates the following traits: organized, good communicator, energetic, team player, initiative,

*            Must be prepared to develop swimmers, rather than manage great athletes

*            Prior coaching experience working with a USA Swimming Team and Age Group athletes for 3 years

*            Demonstrated a record of producing well-rounded swimmers with excellent technique and racing skills

*            Experience with Team Unify web site

Salary and Benefits:

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Earning discretionary bonus income and additional income from private lessons and clinics is possible. Benefits include Paid Vacation, Sick, Personal Days. Storm Aquatics pays for all USA Swimming requirements and lifeguard training.
