Empire KC Swim Club

EMPIRE KC SWIM CLUB is a year-round sports team offering professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages. As a member team of USA Swimming, EMPIRE KC SWIM CLUB provides members with excellent, multi-faceted training techniques and conditioning, highly competitive experiences, sophisticated coaching techniques, opportunities for personal and athletic success, and fun in the water. We emphasize development of a strong work ethic, growth in self-esteem, and confidence to achieve desired goals. EMPIRE KC develops and educates the athlete, focusing on character, dedication, teamwork, perseverance, work ethic, and heart, providing valuable lifelong lessons.

As members of the American Swimming Coaches Association, EMPIRE KC coaches participate in the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States, assuring that the time children spend swimming is purposeful, meaningful, and safe.

EMPIRE SWIM CLUB is a non-profit organization, run by an elected Board of Directors which meets monthly. All members are welcome to attend monthly meetings and encouraged to participate in team activities, events, and fundraisers.

EMPIRE KC Swim Club is currently seeking an Assistant Coach.  EKC has location in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Overland Park, Kansas and Olathe, Kansas.  EKC has been a USA swimming member since its inception.   This is a part-time position.  Coaching requirements are 3-4 times per week with potential for growth. ESC has between 170-200 swimmers registered with the club throughout the year. Responsibilities:   1) Assist the Head Coach with design and implementation of EKC’s training programs.  2)  Work with swimmers to perfect stroke techniques.  3)  Manage the on-deck coaching of assigned swim groups.  4)  Encourage participation in all home and selected away swim meets.  5)  Establish a positive environment that fosters athletes’ love for the sport of swimming.  6)  Resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner.  7)  Coach at away meets as scheduled by the Head Coach.  Compensation:   Compensation will be commensurate with experience.  EKC pays for USA membership, professional development, and attendance at clinics.   Candidate Qualifications:   Have experiences as a competitive swimmer as well as some coaching experience is preferred.  Able to clearly communicate the proper strokes and techniques.  Must be an energetic and compassionate motivator capable of developing age group swimmers into senior level competitors.    How to Apply:  Interested applicants should email the head coach, Marjoire Sherard at coachmarjorie@esclions.com   or sr. coach Carmen at carmen.menges@yahoo.com .     Contact Information Blaine Markley, Board President bmarkley@spencerfane.com Marjorie Sherard, Head Coach coachmarjorie@esclions.com (913) 207-8116 Carmen Menges, Senior Coach Carmen.menges@yahoo.com (816) 918-3773
