The Kemp Mill Kangaroos are seeking a Head Coach for the 2023 season to lead the team for a fun summer of learning in a friendly competitive environment. The ideal candidates will have swim coaching and teaching experience, experience working with young people, and excellent communications skills. The Kemp Mill Swim Club is a well-established private swim club located in a very pleasant wooded setting in the Kemp Mill neighborhood of Silver Spring, MD.

Head Coach Requirements:

• Excellent leadership and communication skills

• Ability to lead and work well with Assistant Coaches, Junior Coaches, Swim Buddies

• Motivational skills

• In depth knowledge of swimming and how to teach swimming

• Hold current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, and pool operations

• Ability to use SwimTopia software

• Ability to apply Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL) procedures and rules

• Ability to lead coaching staff

Timeframe:  Our season runs from Memorial Day through late July. Practices for our pre-team and team are held afternoons and evenings Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Meets are held at our pool and other local swim clubs one to two times per week (generally Wednesdays and Sundays).

A fully qualified Head Coach may earn $3000 or greater for the swim season..
