We are proud of our team and the accomplishments of our members and we like to insure that we are consistent in our team identity. Our official team name is the Coeur d' Alene Area Swim Team. The term CAST refers to our USA Swimming Club code.
The Coeur d'Alene Area Swim Team embraces a team philosophy that commits it to develop the highest level of competitive excellence for every swimmer, while simultaneously encouraging spirit, honesty, team pride, personal commitment and individual growth.
Through the team experience and the sport of swimming, our swimmers have a unique opportunity to learn skills that will serve them well for a lifetime. They learn how to set personal goals and how to work hard in a consistent and methodical way to make those goals a reality, they learn excellent swimming skills, they learn how to be a member of a team and how important it is to be there for their friends and team mates. Our swimmers develop self-discipline and self-confidence. They get to experience the joy of victory and the exhilaration of being a champion and they also learn how to handle the agony of defeat. Our swimmers also make many enduring friendships through the team experience. The team believes once a Croc, always a Croc!
CAST training occurs at all ability levels from beginning Pre-competitive swimmers thru collegiate swimmers and we believe we offer one of the finest training programs available in the Pacific Northwest. Our emphasis is on developing in our swimmers the very best swimming techniques possible and, as the technique develops, adding to it a strong conditioning base.
