ASSISTANT SWIM COACH position:

The Faircrest Cyclones Summer Swim team is seeking fun and inspiring Assistant coach who enjoys working with competitive and developmental swimmers age 4-18.  Candidates must have previous coaching experience as well as professionalism, excellent  leadership and communication skills. 

Our swim team includes a learn-to-swim program for children aged 4-7 as well as swimmers of varying skills 5-18 years. Candidates are expected to be positive, ethical role models as they teach teamwork, good sportsmanship, team spirit and respect for diversity. Instruction in age-appropriate stroke mechanics, dryland exercises, starts/turns, and competition technique is expected. 

Good communication skills in-person and online is a “must” to working effectively with swimmers, junior/apprentice coaches, parents, volunteers, and swim committee members. 

Familiarity with SwimTopia is preferred but not essential. 

Work hours include:

• Daily weekday morning practices starting the day after Memorial Day through 3rd weekend in July

• Saturday Morning and Wednesday Evening Meets

• Occasional swim committee meetings, in-person or online

• Pre-season Parent night 

• End of Season Awards banquet (day after All League Meet)

• Post-season meeting with swim committee 

Requirements:

• Lifeguard Certification, Concussion training, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, CPR/First Aid certification by May 30, 2024

Faircrest Cyclones Swim Team is a family-oriented community summer swim team located in Centreville, Fairfax County, Virginia. The community includes approximately 1100 homes. The swim team is a member of the Herndon Swim League 
and were All League Champions during the 2022 and 2023 summer season.
