ISC was originally founded in 1955 as Bloomington Swim Club by the legendary Dr. James E. “Doc” Counsilman as a competitive swimming program for children ages 5-21. Our mission is to encourage youth in the Bloomington and Martinsville areas to experience the sport of swimming in a safe and supportive environment that fosters team cohesion, discipline, sportsmanship, and self-esteem.
