Responsibilities We're seeking a   Head Lifeguard   to join our team. Our new Aquatics Center is opening April of 2018! As our new Head Lifeguard, you will: Primary Duties and Responsibilities:   Assist with the scheduling  and supervision of  lifeguards as  it relates to staffing changes, emergency coverage, securing staffing for regular operating hours including events/parties and rentals. Work with the Director of Facilities to maintain the appropriate water chemistry in the pools ensuring a safe aquatic environment for our patrons Lifeguard 15-20 hours a week. Assist with the training and development of Aquatics Staff as directed. Practice good judgment while working with the Director of Health and Wellness in organizing and maintaining a safe and effective aquatic environment with respect to leading part time Aquatics Staff in their roles   Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: Regular monitoring of the Aquatics Centers to assure the safety of all users, diagnose potential problems, setting of high standards for cleanliness and appearance and regulate appropriate use of facilities Work with Director of Health and Wellness to implement systems that assure inventory and supplies are available for proper functioning of facilities (i.e. pool chemistry, testing equipment, lane line, kickboards, bar bells etc.) Checking and logging the water chemistry and pool temperature in regular intervals throughout the shift/day as required by the center. Prevent injuries and minimize or eliminate hazardous situations (e.g. slip risks, dangerous activities, diving or horseplay) Helps maintain First Aid, safety equipment and supplies Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies in the aquatics area. Report hazards and incidents in a timely manner, always adhering to safety and emergency procedures. Enforce pool rules firmly, fairly, consistently and courteously will all facility users. Works group rental events as assigned, providing excellent customer service while ensuring a safe, fun and friendly environment for all individuals at the event. Effectively communicate each student’s progress either to the student directly, or to the student’s parents where appropriate.  Project and promote a professional image.  Explain and enforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures to patrons. As our new Assistant Swim Team Coach you will:   Be approachable and visible to all club members and all swim team families. Bring an enthusiastic and energetic approach to each and every practice. Develop strong, lasting relationships with all swimmers on the team and the lap swimmers. Ensure the safety of swimmers at the practice by following proper precautions and regulations. Give swimmers knowledge to understand and master stokes allowing for movement up through the swim team groups. Be on deck before swimmers begin practice, to greet swimmers and parents. Help set up and run swim meets as deemed necessary by the Head Coach. 9. Communicate effectively with the Head Coach about daily practice procedures, emergencies, and information regarding swimmers and swim team well-being. Attend any and all team meeting, get together, as deemed necessary by the Head Coach. Maintain structure and discipline within a group setting, while encouraging and promoting student participation in as positive manner. Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment Develop a dryland training program and execute during daily practices. Keep current with research in aquatics related areas. Assist the lifeguards with the enforcement of pool rules and in helping lap swimmers find lanes available to them. Assist with the development and marketing of all Aquatics programs. Other duties when needed. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification (AED, CPR, First Aid) or Coaches Water Safety and   AED/CPR and First Aid. Extensive experience working with children and teenagers. Strong background in competitive swimming. Must have at least two years of coaching experience.   Preferred Qualifications:    Excellent verbal and communication skills. Strong service orientation and attitude; the ability to provide members, guests and staff with exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner. Superior communication skills. Ability to relate to diverse populations. Enthusiastic, responsible and team-oriented.   Physical Requirements: Exposure to variety of weather elements. Requires long periods of standing. Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left hand use, Typing. Grasping and gripping movements. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
