Job Title: Assistant Swim Coach
Location: The Colony / North Dallas, TX

A+ Swimming is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Swim Coach to support our competitive swim program and work closely with the Head Coach.

The ideal candidate is a former competitive swimmer with a strong understanding of stroke technique, starts, turns, underwater skills, race preparation, and age-group athlete development.

This position is designed for someone who can take an active role in the training process, independently run practices, and become a reliable part of the coaching leadership team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and assist with competitive swim practices
• Coach swimmers across different age and ability groups
• Provide technical instruction and individual feedback
• Help develop swimmers in all four competitive strokes
• Work on starts, turns, underwater skills, and race technique
• Assist with seasonal and weekly training plans
• Monitor athlete progress, attendance, effort, and development
• Prepare swimmers for competitions
• Attend selected USA Swimming meets
• Lead practices independently when the Head Coach is unavailable
• Maintain a positive, disciplined, and professional training environment
• Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and coaching staff
• Support the overall growth and development of the competitive program

Qualifications:

• Former competitive swimming experience strongly preferred
• Competitive swim coaching experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of swimming technique and athlete development
• Ability to independently manage and coach a training group
• Reliable, organized, responsible, and professional
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Comfortable working with children and teenage athletes
• Willingness to learn and continue developing as a coach

USA Swimming Requirements:

The preferred candidate will already have current USA Swimming coaching credentials or be able to complete all required certifications, including USA Swimming membership, background check, Athlete Protection Training, Safe Sport requirements, CPR/First Aid, concussion training, and other required certifications.

We are looking for more than someone who can simply assist on deck. We are looking for a coach who can become the Head Coach’s right hand in the training process, take ownership of athlete development, and grow with A+ Swimming long term.
