Salary: $66,300 Annually The Jamaica YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Director who will provide leadership to the Aquatics Department at the branch. They will follow all YMCA and DOH aquatics standards to maintain safety for all aquatics programs in and around the swim area. The Aquatics Director will serve as a model to promote and demonstrate a professional demeanor (uniform and positive attitude) to other aquatics staff. Key Responsibilities: Know and understand all YMCA, state, and local Health and Safety requirements, including Pool Safety Plan, Emergency Action Plan, Emergency Evacuation Routes, and staff certifications. Maintain adequate staffing (recruiting, training, hiring, and evaluating) of Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, and Water Exercise Instructors to deliver programs. We are opening a new 50,000 sq ft Athletic & Wellness Center (Fall 2026!!!) that includes a 6-lane pool. We aspire to become a destination for swim lessons (ie, we will create a swim school open to the public) AND a USA Swim team that draws swimmers from around the world. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial and competitive individual who desires to build their own program. As we are a boarding school for grades 4-9, onsite housing is available for this position and of course, for members of our future swim team.
