LIFEGUARD/SWIM INSTRUCTOR Under direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, Recreation Specialist, Pool Manager, or Senior Lifeguard, works as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor at a community aquatic facility.  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervises patrons and participants in pool and deck area. Supervises patrons and participants involved in swim instruction. Provides accident prevention and education of the public with regard to water safety. Maintains discipline and safeguards and regulates the conduct of patrons in order to prevent accidents and drowning by enforcing pertinent rules and regulations. Renders care in the most current American Red Cross techniques in water safety, lifeguarding, first aid, and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to persons in need of assistance.
