Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Swim Coach to lead our swim team and oversee our swim lesson program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coaching, a strong background in competitive swimming, and experience managing and developing swim programs. This role requires leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive environment for swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Swim Team Coaching:
Design and implement effective swim training programs for various age groups and skill levels.
Develop swimmers' technique, endurance, and overall performance.
Organize and lead swim practices, ensuring structured and engaging sessions.
Attend and coach at swim meets, providing feedback and support to swimmers.
Track and evaluate swimmer progress, setting goals and providing regular feedback.
Foster a positive and motivating team culture that encourages sportsmanship and teamwork.
Collaborate with the Aquatics Manager of program development and team goals, and financials.
Oversee the planning and execution of swim lessons, ensuring high-quality instruction.
Be a learning tool and resource guide to swim instructors.
Monitor and evaluate swim lesson programs for effectiveness and improvement.
Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with all aquatic policies and procedures.
Communicate with parents and participants to address concerns and provide progress updates, as well as ensure parent education tools to learn about swimming and their role on the team as a parent.
Assist with scheduling lessons and managing enrollment.
Use monday.com to assign coach responsibilities, and to track tryouts.
Oversee team uniforms, equipment sales, and banquet plan.
Work with parent Volunteer Coordinator.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Previous experience as a swim coach at the competitive level (5+ years preferred)
Strong knowledge of stroke technique, training strategies, and team management.
Current Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
USA Swimming or ASCA coaching certification is required.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Passion for aquatics and commitment to developing swimmers of all levels.
