The McGaw YMCA Swim Team is looking for a lead coach to work with many of our 12&Under groups on the team. The team is located at 1000 Grove St. in Evanston, IL. This position would be 20+ hours a week including weekends for swim meets. There is the potential for extra hours if the applicant is interested in helping with group lessons and private swim lessons. Duties include: developing practices, running structured safe workouts, working with other staff, and staying within the principles and practices of the McGaw YMCA. Prior coaching experience and knowledge of competitive swimming required for this position. The ability to travel to swim meets on weekends is required for this position. Smoky Mountain Aquatic Club is a year-round Swim Team that competes out of two locations in Asheville, NC and one in Waynesville, NC.  JOB DESCRIPTION:  The Smoky Mountain Aquatic Club Assistant Coach must be motivated, energetic, and eager to learn, with a clear passion for teaching and working with children. The assistant coach will be working with athletes ages 4-18 with abilities ranging from the novice to Junior National Level athletes across two locations.  As the team is growing, this position has a potential to become full time.  The Assistant Coach’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following duties and tasks: To maintain a safe pool environment during practices and meets. The Assistant Coach will always use best practices when running workouts in water and on deck. Safety is the most important part of being Assistant Coach at Smoky Mountain Aquatic Clu. The Assistant Coach is responsible for maintaining a culture centered around American Red Cross Water Safety and USA Swimming’s Safe Sport. To provide instruction on stroke technique with an eye for improving skills of individuals and the team. The Smoky Mountain Aquatic Club Assistant Coach will work with the Head Coach to design and implement seasonal plans for athletes, including designing practices and dryland sessions. The Assistant Coach will provide constructive feedback to swimmers. The coach’s role is to be a model for positivity, to be an effective problem solver, and understand how/when to use various teaching styles. To attend all required Smoky Mountain Aquatic Club practices, swim meets, and meetings while modeling the proper dress, language, demeanor, and sportsmanship for athletes. The SMAC Assistant coach will attend no more than 6 practices per week. The SMAC Assistant coach will attend weekly staff meetings to go over the day to day operations, administration, and team related items.   The SMAC Assistant coach attends competitions 1 to 2 times per month, with travel lodging and expenses covered by the team. The Smoky Mountain Aquatic Club Assistant Coach will be expected to interact effectively with parents. The Assistant Coach understands the objectives of Western Carolina Aquatic Group and adheres to coaching policies outlined in the Coaches’ Handbook. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum 3 years of coaching experience. (Required) Ability to possess or maintain all required USA Swimming coach requirements. (Required) ASCA Level 2 Certified or higher. (Preferred) Demonstrated success of swimmers by performance. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred Technical skills: Experience with the TeamUnify platform, Hy-Tek Software, and Google Drive. Drivers license and automobile required for travel. Math Ability:   Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, and enforce ratios for safety.  Ability to apply basic concepts of basic algebra and geometry to help swimmers calculate time percentages, stroke rates, race pace intervals, in order to help improve swimmers working knowledge and needed changes to achieve time standards. Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. The work is performed in an athletic club environment, but not limited to outdoor pools, or lakes. JOB TITLE : SAC Assistant Swim Coach REPORTS TO : SAC Head Swim Coach DATE : GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK : Under general supervision of the Head Swim Coach, help plan and organize a competitive swim program for the Sevier Aquatic Club. Assist in organizing meets and oversee daily practices as directed. Analyze performance and instruct swimmers in proper technique and training strategies. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : Help plan, develop and implement programs to attract swimmers into the program from the surrounding community. Help develop and implement a seasonal and yearly training program including a “dry-land” strength-training program that will compliment water training and help swimmers reach their maximum potential.   Coach students individually or in groups, demonstrating proper swimming technique and observing students to detect and correct mistakes. The Assistant AG coach will work from Monday through Friday in the afternoon from 4:30 to 6:30 pm and the assigned swimming meet ones a month on the weekend. RACE Aquatics is seeking a qualified applicants for a full-time salaried Head Coach for USA Swimming Club Team and High School programs. RACE is a USA Swim Club founded in 2007 and is part of Kentucky Swimming LSC.  RACE is a 501c3 non-profit organization overseen by an elected Board of Directors.    RACE Aquatics currently has over 120 swimmers throughout the year and offers 8 different training levels.
