They YMCA of the North Shore is seeking an experienced Aquatics Director to join our team at the Sterling Center YMCA. The Aquatics Director is responsible for all aspects of the instructional and recreational aquatics experience. Key responsibilities of this role include recruiting, retaining and transitioning swimmers of all ages and abilities through the programs and working collaboratively with the competitive team to achieve a successful conversion rate of instructional swimmers to the competitive program. Through strong leadership, dynamic planning, high quality engagement, and direct service, the Aquatics Director manages staff, provides guidance on the technical and physical skills of swimming, creates an environment of fun that develops relationships, achievement and belonging while fostering a lifelong love of swimming and the water. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Recruit, hire, train, develop and manage high quality staff for all components of the department. Ensure records of staff certifications are up-to-date and complete. Create and lead a culture that provides an excellent participant experience by leading quality programs and services, including but not limited to: aquatics classes, aquatic open times, vacation programs, and special events. Lead site specific events and assist in association wide swim team social event planning, as necessary. Implement association swim lesson curriculum providing progression through the aquatics program. Work collaboratively with the competitive team to ensure progression from instructional to team, be well versed in team schedules and details to provide high quality service to families. Manage all reporting relative to programming, activities and pool operation management. Keep detailed and accurate records as needed including attendance, work-outs and swimmer progression, maintenance logs, etc. Manage and maintain all pool operation and programming equipment. Maintain consistent, clear, effective and positive communication with youth and parents. Personally build relationships with YMCA members through daily interactions. Foster and maintain positive relationships with schools, agencies and organizations to expand services, programs and the impact of the Y in the community. Be proactive and flexible in addressing community needs for aquatics programming. Establish and innovate new programs and scheduling to increase and improve the quality of programming and quantity of registrants. Ensure optimal program availability, safety and cleanliness by adhering to all safety guidelines for pool and aquatics operations according to local, state, YMCA and Risk Management guidelines and regulations. Support and directly lead outdoor pools and guards as applicable. Participate in the development of marketing efforts for aquatics programming. All other duties as directed or required for the overall success of the organization. At least 21 years of age with 3-5 years experience as a competitive coach, preferably in a leadership capacity. At least one year of staff supervision experience including one evaluative cycle and demonstrated ability to positively develop and support exceptional performance. Current USA Swimming and or YMCA Swim coach credentials. Certified Pool Operator CPO, CPR, AED, Basic First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 3 months. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency of swim skills in accordance with YMCA standards and have a strong foundation in stroke mechanics. Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to relate to individuals and families from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We're seeking a Head  Swim Team Coach   to join our team. As our new Head Swim Team Coach you will: Be approachable and visible to all club members and all swim team families. Bring an enthusiastic and energetic approach to each and every practice. Develop strong, lasting relationships with all swimmers on the team and the lap swimmers. Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and supervising all assistant coaches. Assist with New Employee Orientations for all assistant coaches. Develop and lead weekly coaches meetings. Develop methods to track swimmers progress throughout the season. Develop a dryland training program and execute during daily practices. Keep current with research in aquatics related areas. Assist the lifeguards with the enforcement of pool rules and in helping lap swimmers find lanes available to them. Assist with the development and marketing of all Aquatics programs. Required Qualifications: Current Red Cross Lifeguard certification (AED, CPR, First Aid) or Coaches Water Safety and AED/CPR and First Aid. ASCA Level 2 certified or above. Current USA Swimming certified coach. Extensive experience working with children and teenagers. Strong background in competitive swimming. Must have at least two years of supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications:   Excellent verbal and communication skills. Strong service orientation and attitude; the ability to provide members, guests and staff with exceptional service in a friendly and professional manner. About the Team: The Swimchester Sailfish Swim Team is seeking experienced and enthusiastic coaching candidates for our full time (20-40 hours/week) Head Coaching position. The Swimchester Sailfish Swim Team (SWSF) is a volunteer/parent board-governed, coach-managed, registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, competitive swim team serving 50-70 children in Winchester, Kentucky and surrounding communities. We train at the College Park Indoor pool (6 lanes x 25 yards) during the Short Course season, and at the Tates Creek Aquatic Center in Lexington, KY (50 meters) during the   Long Course season. Our mission is to teach, train and help swimmers, of all levels, realize their highest potential. We value dedication, hard work, team pride, friendships, physical and mental well-being, individual growth and progress towards excellence, both in the pool and in life. Head Coach duties include, but are not limited to: Leading by example, building a successful team and a positive swim culture. The development, implementation, and refinement of a complete, contemporary, season-long swim program, with corresponding dry land training. Coaching the team at all swim meets, while regularly providing feedback and constructive criticism to SWSF swimmers. Head Age Group Coach & Lifeguard The Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY) is seeking an experienced person to work a full-time position of head age group coach for our 9-12 year-old swim team groups.  The candidate will play an integral role on our both our Aquatics and Competitive staff team. The UMLY team is nationally ranked in YMCA Swimming, having just placed 4th at YMCA Nationals. We also have maintained a USA Swimming Bronze Level recognition for the past 3 years.  The successful candidate will oversee the training and development of our age groups 2 and 3 (Approximately 100 swimmers). This person will be responsible for leading part-time assistant coaches. This is a full time hourly position (40 hours per week).  The typical week is 30 hours coaching and 10 hours guarding. During the weeks that team is not in session, this position will work the majority of hours in the aquatics department.     Qualifications: Age group coaching experience - 3 years preferred. ASCA level 3 certification or equivalent preferred. Ellis lifeguard certification or ability to secure it (we train). The FISH Swim Team, located in McLean, VA, is seeking a full-time swim coach to work with all levels of the program – and to be the primary coach for the 9-12 developmental group. This group is one of the foundations of our program; and is a great opportunity to coach some up and coming young kids with a lot of enthusiasm for the sport.   Located just outside of Washington DC, we are in a great swimming environment and a wonderful area to start or further a career in swim coaching. Attending scheduled USA swim meets (about 1-2 weekends per month), as well as assist with FISH-hosted meets, eventually as Meet Director. Ability to motivate and inspire swimmers of all ages and create a positive learning environment. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Strong organizational skills.   Salary is commensurate with experience. RESPONSIBILITIES Plan season training for the age groups and write practices. Coordinate & implement training plan at assigned practice sessions including dryland.
