The La Crosse Area Family YMCA is currently seeking a Head Swim Team Coach for our competitive swim team consisting of 200+ swimmers. Candidate must be energetic, professional, organized, and have the ability to develop and grow participants, staff, volunteers and a parent committee. The Head Swim Team Coach will be responsible for all aspects of the team including recruitment, staffing, swimmer and coach development, budget management, fundraising, and website management. Northeast Houston Aquatics - NEHA is seeking highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic coaches to help develop our rapidly growing swim program. NEHA is a year round USA Swimming affiliated swim club located in the New Caney ISD Natatorium that focuses on technique and endurance training for all levels of swimmers ages 6-18. Job Description: Part-Time M-F: 5-8pm , Sat: 9-11am, plus swim meets and 1 one hour monthly coaches meeting. Experience working with children and large groups. Must have background of 3-4 years of competitive swimming, USA Swimming coaching experience, and/or minimum of one-year experience as a swim instructor. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Certification of CPR, AED, & First Aid preferred. Pay starts at $15/hr. depending on credentials and experience. USA Swimming coach certifications are preferred and will be required. The Fort Belvoir Swim Team is seeking (1) Full-time Coach and (2) Part-time Coaches. The Full-time position responsibilities are: On-deck Coaching approximately 30 hours a week; Administrative duties approximately 10 hours a week. Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for managing the safe and effective operation of the Aquatics Center and implementation of aquatic programs at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. This position will ensure compliance with facility and industry standard regulations and policies for maintaining the aquatic systems, serve a liaison representing the Department in planning safety city wide, and provide over-site for the planning, organizing, directing and supervising of staff and the contracts/volunteers that utilize the Pools. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide effective leadership and direction of the Aquatic Center’s operation. Develop, promote, implement, supervise, and evaluate all aquatic programs. Recruit, hire, train, motivate, discipline and evaluate Aquatic Center personnel. Communicate professionally with the public, user groups, contractors, members of City staff, and elected officials. Complete aquatic facility maintenance and reporting in accordance with state regulations. Monitor and optimize Aquatic Center mechanical operations. Analyze, forecast, prepare, and monitor budgets and financial information including capital improvement recommendations. Creates and edits program area information for seasonal activities guides, promotional materials and registration software. Inventory and order first aid supplies for Community Center, Recreation Programs, Ice Rink, Parks, and City Hall. Oversee City’s AED program including monitoring, maintenance, and reporting. CORE COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of American Red Cross Health and Safety programs, aquatic facility safety guidelines, state pool and spa regulations, water chemistry, aquatic facility maintenance and operations. Demonstrate a strong team approach to customer service and staff management. Effective communication and presentation skills with staff, elected officials, and the public. Possess strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently, use good judgment, and take initiative. Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS Necessary: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or, Degree in a related field and three (3) years of experience in operation of aquatic facilities Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience Other combinations of education and experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the tasks of the position may be considered. Must have current certifications in Life-guarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, and Certified Pool/Spa Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator. Desired: Three (3) years of progressively more responsible management/supervisory experience. Certification in Water Safety Instructor Trainer and/or Lifeguard Instructor Trainer.

Essential Functions: 1. Plan, develop, implement, and maintain all aquatics programming that includes: • Responsibility for the health and safety of each participant. • Keeping all aquatics areas safe, clean and orderly. • Maintaining pool records and statistics dealing with each program. • Enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures. • Be in compliance with all State Health Regulations, YMCA, YMCA of USA, DHHS and American Red Cross standards. 2. Teach swim lessons, water exercise, lifeguard and other programs as deemed necessary. 3. Check and record pool chemistry and discuss related concerns with Facilities department. 4. Orient, acclimate and train new lifeguards to the facility, programs and the YMCA. 5. Provide supervision to staff and volunteers including interviewing, hiring and training, planning, assigning and directing work and addressing complaints and resolving problems. 6. Responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the departments including performing annual employee evaluations. 7. Responsible for overseeing the Swim Team including parent committee, coaches, volunteers and swim meets. 8. Assist in special events as assigned by the Supervisor. 9. Adhere to association policy regarding fiscal compliance. 10. Management of pool rentals. 11. Actively pursue opportunities to generate income through appropriate mission driven consistent programs and activities. 12. Work with branch leadership to raise money for the Y’s programs and financial assistance through the Y’s annual campaign (the Y’s annual fundraising campaign) by identifying prospects and making personal asks. 13. Meet the association standard for attendance, punctuality and dependability; keeping in confidence matters related to office or personnel; and, exercises good judgment around areas of responsibility. 14. Attend and participate in YMCA of Southern Maine Program Leadership Team meetings. 15. Communicate effectively with support services, Executive Director and other program leaders to coordinate programs and the needs of groups. 16. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: • Associates degree. • 4-6 years of experience in aquatics leadership role. • Certified in YMCA On the Guard II and/or ARC Lifeguarding (YMCA preferred). • YMCA Swim instructor course and/or WSI. • Certified Pool Operator. • Certified as an Instructor Trainer. • Automatic External Defibrillator(AED) and Oxygen (02) Training. • Working knowledge of a Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook. • Good decision making, communication and organizational skills. • Self- Motivated and ability to take initiative. • Ability to work independently as well as within teams. • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and ability to travel locally. Job Description The Assistant Swim School Manager is responsible for supervising, scheduling, evaluating and training Swim Instructors and Deck Coordinators while also managing the day-to-day operations of the JCCSF Swim School. The ideal candidate should be able to understand long term goals and outcomes of the program and implement practices to achieve them. This position will report to the Aquatics Program Manager and shares with them the responsibility of ensuring a high-quality swim school, strong customer service culture and an exceptionally safe aquatic environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Hire, train, schedule and supervise all Swim Instructors and Deck Coordinators. Ensure staff is consistently meeting and/or exceeding program policies and standards. Swim School responsibilities: Provide ongoing evaluation, coaching and training for all Swim Instructors and Deck Coordinators. Schedule all Swim Instructors and Deck Coordinators ensuring consistent class coverage. Ensure all aspects of the Aquatic Concepts Swim School model are being applied consistently and correctly. Develop and maintain structures and systems to manage class rosters, teaching areas, progress reports, waiver/authorization collection and student placement. Establish and maintain an ongoing process to recruit, train and develop new Swim Instructors and Deck Coordinators. Maintain an active presence for Swim School participants and ensure that there is ongoing and effective communication with participants and exceptional customer service. Work with Aquatics administrative staff to ensure proper scheduling of all swim programing including Swim School, Private Lessons, French School, ECE and Camp lessons. Ensure that staff recording accurate timesheets and/or breaks by completing all payroll material. Maintain ongoing communication with the Aquatics Program Manager, keeping them informed of challenges, program/staff needs and problem solving. Maintain an awareness of budget parameters and manage to stay within those while also taking an active responsibility for exceeding revenue/enrollment projections. Proactively make adjustments to Swim Instructor Manual with the assistance of the Aquatics Program Manager. Proactively, consistently and clearly communicate with staff to keep them informed and engaged. Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to all staff. Evaluate staff per JCCSF evaluation policy procedures and timeframe. Assist in managing/ training Weekend Customer Service Representatives on best practices. Additional duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: BA or BS degree required. Prior experience in Aquatic Program Management. Significant experience supervising Aquatics staff. Strong supervisory skills and experience. Experience in a strong and effective customer service culture. Lifeguard Certification required & Lifeguard Instructor Certification preferred. Significant experience as a swim instructor required. Strong written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail and independently motivated. Outgoing, professional and charismatic presence. Proven ability to maintain staff accountability and high standards. Knowledge of and experience with the Aquatic Concepts Swim School model a plus. Outstanding computer skills, including advanced skills in MS Office and the ability to learn new business software programs. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively. STATUS:  Benefited, exempt, supervisory position. HOURS:  Full Time SCHEDULE:  Mon – Wed: 11am – 8pm, Sat & Sun: 8am – 5pm. Some nights and holidays required. Job Description The mission of the JCCSF Swim Team is to provide young swimmers with quality coaching that will help them develop and enhance their swimming and endurance skills. To create an environment where swimmers feel like they are part of a team and learn how to compete with the goal of putting forth their absolute best effort and regardless of the result feel confident and supported for that effort. The JCCSF Swim Team is a continuum of the JCCSF Swim School and Youth Athletic programs, providing young people the opportunity to develop life skills such as personal effort, integrity, confidence and teamwork.   The Assistant Swim Coach helps the Head Coach to create this experience. The Assistant Coach is expected to attend all swim meets, swim practices and team functions throughout the year and is also responsible for creating and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the swim team participants. The Assistant Coach also assists the Head Coach and Aquatics Program Manager with communicating with all swim team members as well as various swim team system functions including, but not limited to, managing team rosters, meet times and communications.   RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Head Coach in creating thorough, age -appropriate workouts focusing on technique, endurance, stroke development, drills, etc. Lead structured practice in absence of Head Coach Assist with practice on days with large team attendance Take direction and guidance from Head Coach Help to record all work outs and track daily attendance. Maintain a consistent presence at all swim team events such as meets, social events, meetings, etc. Engage parents and cultivate relationships to create a collaborative swim team environment. Assist in coordinating and executing swim team competitions and meet registrations. Record times at swim meets and assist in imputing into swim team system. Assist in swim team social event planning, as necessary Coordinate with other coaches on specific areas of expertise. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for swim team participants. Be committed to the mission and goals of the JCCSF. Additional duties as required. REQUIREMENTS: Experience working with children ages 5-13 years. 2+ years swim instructor/coaching experience. 2+ years’ experience as a competitive swimmer, preferred Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification. Experience working with parents, preferred Enthusiastic, dynamic presence with good communication skills Applicants must be available for all weekday practices and occasional weekend meets. The JCCSF swim season runs from September through July.   STATUS: Seasonal, non-exempt, non-benefited.   HOURS: Seasonal (8 – 12 hours per week), Mon – Thu: 3:30pm – 6pm, Weekend Swim Meets when scheduled Some holidays may be required.
