Calvert Aquatics Club (“CAC”) is seeking applicants for two Assistant Coaches - (1) Age Group Coach for ages 8-12 and (1) Junior & Senior Silver Coach for ages 12-18. CAC is a club with 130+ student-athletes, ranging from Novice to Future qualifiers.  Located in Prince Frederick, MD, the county seat of Calvert County, CAC is one of the up & coming young clubs in the region. Our close proximity to the Washington, DC metropolitan area results in a steady influx of families for a moderate cost of living & a reasonable commute up to DC-area jobs; an exceptional opportunity to grow the club is the net result. Bordered by the Chesapeake Bay to the east and the Patuxent River to the west, there is no shortage of year round outdoor activities in Southern Maryland.  CAC is based out of the Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center, an indoor 50M pool which opened in 2010, and is conveniently located just off Route 4, the main north/south thoroughfare in Calvert County. CAC is a year round, USA Swimming club, providing on-deck dry land training, morning and afternoon practices, swim meet hosting abilities, long course training in the summer months and is supported by a volunteer parent board, as well as 2-3 assistant coaches.  CAC is looking for an enthusiastic coach who is eager to play an integral part in the development of our athletes. The assistant coach position will oversee all aspects of their respective programs, including management and running of daily practices all the while supporting the coaching philosophy and direction of the program as established by the head coach. Assistant coaches report directly to the Head Coach. The positions are paid hourly and require approximately 15-18 hours of on deck coaching per week and 1-2 weekend meets per month.    The Assistant Coach responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversee & manage daily practices including in-water and dry land training Oversee the development and progression of swimmers including communication with swimmers and parents Instruct proper swimming concepts & techniques Create a positive team atmosphere, helping athletes reach their individual potential Meet with Head Coach to outline developmental progressions, practice sessions, meet schedules, and to discuss any concerns or opportunities. The input of meet entries and communications for meets within given group Administrative duties as needed. We are seeking a career minded coach who can build upon this foundation and bring the club to even greater heights. Based out of the Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center, an indoor 50M pool which opened in 2010, and is conveniently located just off Route 4, the main north/south thoroughfare in Calvert County. CAC is a year-round, USA Swimming club, providing on-deck dry land training, morning and afternoon practices, hosts MD/USA swimming sanctioned swim meets, long course training, and is supported by a volunteer parent board, as well as 2-3 assistant coaches.   The head coach is expected to be a career coach (ASCA Level 3 or higher preferred, but all levels are strongly encouraged to apply), do the bulk of the administrative work, communicate well with all coaches, athletes & parents, and be the “face of the program” to the Calvert County community.   The Head Coach responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversight of all swim operations, including regulatory compliance, safety, discipline, ensuring an effective - efficient swim staff roster. Management of team and supervision of coaching staff, including coach mentorship, training and development, oversight, and standards. Direct coaching of swimmers in the Senior and Junior Levels and other swimmers as needed Key advisor to the Board to fulfill the strategic plan and mission. Work with board to develop annual swim operations budget and forecast expenditures. Plan & organize annual swim calendar including swim meet selection. Maintain proper health and safety standards, in accordance with Association aquatics safety standards and guidelines. Know and understand all YMCA, state and local health and safety requirements, including Pool Safety Plan, Emergency Action Plan, Emergency Evacuation Routes and staff certifications. Collaborate and build relationships within the YMCA Branch, Association and community organizations, in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Maintain positive relations with participants, parents, members and staff. Serve as a role model to promote and demonstrate professional demeanor. Maintain all records, in accordance with law for pool maintenance, staff training and certifications, program member attendance and evaluation of participant skills, and Department of Health (DOH) requirements. Maintain certification level of physical and mental readiness. Responsible for recertification before expiration. Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings and special events.  Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of three to five years of commensurate experience in a supervisory/management position. YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification or equivalent. Must obtain YMCA Lifeguard certification within 90 days of hire. YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification or equivalent. Must obtain YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification within 120 days of hire. Current CPRO, Emergency Oxygen and First Aid certifications. Demonstrate swim strokes, lifeguard rescues and CPRO/FA/EO skills. Immediate Part-Time Opening: The JCC Bridgewater Tide Swim team is seeking qualified USA Swim Coaches to assist with our Tidal Waves group, Bronze group, and Pre-Competitive group, as well as other groups should the need arise. The Bridgewater Tide Swim Team is located at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center. We have a young, ambitious staff, and we are looking to hire coaches with the same commitment to excellence and desire to inspire our swimmers to succeed. We offer a competitive program that allows swimmers to achieve high levels of athletic success on a State and National level. We also enjoy a “family” culture that includes committed coaches and a supportive volunteer parent committee with a diverse and dedicated group of swimmers and families. The Assistant Coaches will be responsible for all aspects of coaching a designated practice group and will attend all meets in which they are assigned. Practices are Monday-Friday and Sundays. Meets are generally 1-2 weekends a month, with more during Championship seasons. The Tide has a year round enrollment of 130 swimmers that compete on both USA Swimming Short Course and Long Course teams, a Competitive Stroke Clinic in the spring, and a summer league team that competes in the NJ Swimming and Diving Conference. The JCC’s excellent facility includes both a 5 lane 25 yard indoor heated pool and a 5 lane 25 meter outdoor heated pool that has a dome enclosure during the colder months so it is utilized all year round. Minimum requirements include: Coaching experience. Effective Communication Skills to both communicate with swimmers and their parents. Ability to develop and manage Age Group swimmers. A willingness to maintain working knowledge of current swimming techniques and training methods. Professional and upstanding behaviors consistent with USA Swimming and ASCA Code of Ethics. DAYTON RAIDERS SWIM CLUB – FULL- TIME SENIOR ASSISTANT COACH JOB DESCRIPTION : DAYTON RAIDERS SWIM CLUB (currently a 180 member, USA GOLD MEDAL EXCELLENCE TEAM) is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time senior assistant to work with our 3 senior groups/athletes.  We are looking for coaches that have a passion for swimming and enjoy working and developing young people.  The Dayton Raiders is a supportive board run organization with a professional staff and motivated athletes.  POSITION: Applicants must be team-oriented, possess a strong work ethic and be passionate about swimming.  The ideal candidate will also be knowledgeable about stroke mechanics and have good teaching and communication skills.  Additional experience and/or education outside of the sport including technology, marketing and business administration are particularly valuable. The candidate will report to and work closely with the head coach and is expected to be heavily involved in all aspects of the athlete development and planning making this a unique coaching and learning experience for the candidate.  This position requires approximately 25-30 hours weekly for on-deck coaching and an additional 1-15 hours of planning and other administrative tasks each week.  Attendance at 1-2 meets/month is expected and will often require weekend travel away from home. Start Date: ASAP! The current coach is staying on to for the summer to help with the transition. COACHING DUTIES : Establish and maintain communications with both athletes and parents. Assist in the design of seasonal training plans for training squads. Responsible for leading and/or assisting one or more of the Senior Squads through both dryland and water training.
