SWAT is looking for a reliable, motivated and enthusiastic coach to lead our Junior program. The SWAT Junior program is primarily pre-high school swimmers between 13-14 years of age. These swimmers are divided between two different groups based on commitment, skill and fitness levels. The Junior groups meet up to six days a week and swim 90 to 120 minutes a workout with additional dryland conditioning training. Partial responsibilities of the Lead Junior Coach are listed below. Current USA Swimming certifications or willingness to obtain within two months of employment. Knowledge or understanding of Team Unify. Coach and administer practices scheduled for the Junior Platinum and Junior Gold groups. Attend meets on the Junior groups schedule and other meets assigned to assist. Create and fulfill a season plan for the athletes within the Junior program. Write instructional, challenging, yet inspiring workouts daily for the Junior swimmers. Approve meet entries for the athletes within the Junior group. Regular to weekly communication with parents and answering emails in a timely manner. Work closely with the Lead Senior Coach to ready the swimmers for their progression towards the Senior program. Complete other tasks as determined by the Program Director. Formal job description to be discussed during the hiring process for the ideal candidate. This position will consist of 25 to 40 hours a week depending on the particular mesocycle within the season. Compensation will be based upon experience and is highly competitive to other area swim programs. Definite start date is September 1st, 2018. We are looking for candidates with a dynamic personality, passionate towards swimming, dependable and have strong communication and organizational skills. Our ideal person will have (but not required) competitive swimming experience, coaching experience, USA Swimming coaching credentials and live somewhere near the greater Milwaukee area or willing to move into the region. They will also possess high moral character, strong ethics and will value the hard work in developing young athletes. Our coaches are role models to our athletes and mentors to our staff. We have a rich foundation of excellence and a culture of not only bettering swimmers but also bettering people. We do this by fostering lifetime skills though examples and experiences. The candidate will be willing to work with both groups and have a good understanding of stroke techniques and implementing drill or training progressions. Also intends to continue with education and the changing swimming techniques or trends.
