River Falls Swim Club is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Associate Head Coach to join our growing program immediately. RFSC is a board-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving approximately 75–100 competitive swimmers and a 150+ swimmer developmental/swim lessons program for athletes ages 4–18.
This position works closely with the Head Coach to help lead all aspects of the competitive and developmental programs while supporting a positive, athlete-centered team culture. Future growth and advancement within the program is available.
Responsibilities
· Assist with planning and leading daily practices for all training groups
· Develop season training plans, workouts, and stroke technique instruction
· Coach at swim meets and team events, including weekends as needed
· Help supervise, mentor, and coordinate a coaching/instructor staff of approximately 30 team members
· Maintain professional and timely communication with athletes, families, coaches, and board members
· Conduct regular administrative and office duties, including email communication, team updates, meet entries, and swimmer registration support
· Support athlete development, team growth, and community engagement
· Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing seasonal training plans for swimmers of varying age groups and skill levels
· Lead and support daily on-deck practices with a strong emphasis on stroke development, technique refinement, conditioning, and athlete engagement
· Create and execute age-appropriate workouts that align with long-term athlete development principles
· Promote a positive, disciplined, and encouraging team environment that supports swimmer growth both in and out of the pool
· Co-manage the competitive team and developmental swim lesson programs alongside the Head Coach
· Collaborate with the Board of Directors, parents, and community stakeholders to strengthen and expand the program
· Support recruitment, retention, and development initiatives for swimmers and staff
· Foster strong relationships with swimmers and parents to create a welcoming and inclusive club culture
· Represent the club professionally within the local swimming community and at USA Swimming events
Qualifications
· USA Swimming Coach Certification in good standing
· Current background check, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection Training, Concussion Training, CPR, and First Aid certifications
· ASCA Level 1 certification preferred
· Minimum 2 years of competitive coaching experience
· Strong knowledge of stroke mechanics, training progression, and athlete development
· Experience with Hy-Tek Team Manager, Meet Manager, and online team platforms such as SportsEngine, Captyn, or SwimCloud
· Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Positive, collaborative coaching style with a passion for developing swimmers of all levels
· Commitment to team culture, athlete safety, and program growth
Schedule
· Weekday on-deck coaching between 5-9p in fall/winter & 4-8p in spring/summer, along with 2-3x/week morning practices over the summer between 7-10a
· Daily administrative and communication responsibilities
· Weekend meet attendance as needed (most often 1-2 weekends per month)

Compensation is competitive and negotiable based on experience, qualifications, certifications, and scope of responsibilities.
