Head Coach – Thurston Olympians Swim Club (TOSC)

The Thurston Olympians Swim Club (TOSC) is seeking an experienced, energetic, and visionary
Head Coach to lead our year-round competitive swim program. TOSC serves swimmers ages 6
through high school across multiple training groups. We are a parent-run, nonprofit organization
that values teamwork, respect, and athlete development at all levels.


Position Overview
The Head Coach provides day to day leadership for the entire program, developing and
implementing comprehensive training plans, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, and
managing assistant coaches. This full time role requires collaboration with the Board of Directors
and effective communication with swimmers, parents, and staff.


Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement longterm and seasonal training plans
• Lead and coach multiple training groups daily; oversee assistant coaches
• Design and supervise dryland training programs
• Create and manage seasonal meet schedules (SCY & LCM) and attend meets
• Track swimmer progress, goals, and attendance
• Manage meet entries and HYTEK software (Team, Meet, Business)
• Communicate regularly through team updates and website content
• Maintain and expand membership and team spirit initiatives
• Ability to work collaboratively with a volunteer Board of Directors, attend monthlyBoard meetings, and provide program updates


Qualifications
• Previous coaching experience, including leadership and staff supervision
• ASCA Level 3 certification (or equivalent experience)
• Current USA Swimming membership and safety certifications (CPR, First Aid,
Lifeguard, AED)
• Strong technical and organizational skills; proficiency in HYTEK, Team Unify (or similar
club management software), and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication, leadership and motivational skills
• Availability for evening practices, weekend meets, and travel to meets

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with all USA Swimming Safe Sport requirements including background check
and athlete protection training
• Maintain current coaching and safety certifications
