The Fremont Area Swim Team (FAST) is a dual-affiliated competitive YMCA/USA swim team located in Fremont, Nebraska. The team swims under the Midwestern Swimming LSC. FAST attracts swimmers locally and many surrounding communities. FAST is currently seeking a self-starter, well-organized, energetic Head Coach with a great understanding of swimmer development and stroke technique with a strong work ethic, moral values and is a team player. As FAST Head Coach you will manage 2-3 assistant coaches. FAST Head Coach will possess the ability to coach beginner competitive swimmers to the elite high school swimmer. FAST is a rapidly growing 5-year old team with presently 65 registered swimmers. In February 2018, The Fremont Family YMCA finished construction of a state-of-the-art Aquatics Center and is the home pool for FAST! The Myrtha pool is configured by 12-25 yards lanes by 6-50 meters and fully equipped with a Colorado timing system, 24 touch pads, and scoreboard. FAST has had several Sectional Qualifiers, and a Futures qualifier. FAST competes in two Championship meets every winter, the YMCA State meet and the USA Midwestern Championships. We compete in Long Course during summer months and attend the USA Midwestern Championships in July. FAST is also a member of the Northeast Husker Summer Rec-League. Meets are held in surrounding communities with a culminating championship meet. FAST hosts one short course meet and one long course meet each season. The head coach is instrumental in assisting with organization/set-up of all Dillon Family Aquatics Center hosted meets. Requirements: Lifeguard and CPR/First-aid certified (Red Cross) USA Swimming Coach Certification (Completed background check, Safe Sport Policy, etc.) YMCA Coach Certified (Can be completed prior to short course season if needed.) Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience A working knowledge of Team Manager, Meet Manager, and Team Unify with excellent communication, organizational and general computer skills if required. Applicant must have a college degree. Salary and benefits will commensurate with experience and job responsibilities.
