Overview
We are seeking an experienced swim coach to lead the swim program for our junior/elite triathlon program, Team Playtri Elite - one of the top 10 junior high-performance triathlon programs in the country since 2019, and a current U23/elite triathlon development environment. An ideal candidate would have previous experience working with 15 to 18-year-old distance freestyle swimmers at A or better USAS time standards, as well as teaching and coaching other strokes - triathlon/open water coaching experience is a plus.
Duties
- Develop and coach the swim portion of the training program for our top youth and junior development groups, and visiting U23/NCAA athletes
- Collaborate with the team Head Coach to ensure alignment with program goals and standards
- Bring a positive and focused attitude to the swim deck for practices
- Honor program guidelines and mission, and prioritize athlete health, safety and mental/emotional development alongside sports development
- Maintain SafeSport, USAT and CPR/AED certifications (USAT certification cost covered by Playtri)
- Maintain documentation of programming and swimmer benchmarks via Google Drive
- Communicate promptly and effectively with other coaches/athletes/parents as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with 15 to 18-year-old distance freestyle swimmers at AA or better USAS time standards, as well as teaching and coaching other strokes - triathlon/open water coaching experience is a plus
- Reference letter from a previous head coach or supervisor
- Able to access and edit documents via Google Drive
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with athletes, parents, and staff
- Ability to lead by example with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to athlete development
This role is integral to the success of our junior/elite development programs as we continue to pursue the goal of a top national ranking, while producing young men and women with the confidence and skills to succeed in life beyond high school and college.
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 per week (8-11 on deck / 4-5 admin)
