Western Colorado University invites applications for the full-time position of Head Women’s Swim Coach. Western’s NCAA division II program competes in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Head Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is supported by 1-3 part-time assistant coaches.
The Head Women’s Swim Coach is responsible for providing leadership, planning, organizing and administering all aspects of the Western’s Women’s Swimming program. The incumbent will be responsible for fostering and supporting student-athlete welfare, recruiting highly qualified student-athletes, practice scheduling and competitions, coaching athletes in practice and competition, maintaining a strong academic environment, supervising coaching staff, maintaining budget, conducting and managing all facets of camps, cultivating alumni, direct involvement working with program-specific fundraising as well as participation in Athletic Department fundraising.
Supervise the Aquatics Director/Assistant Swimming Coach. Assist in the management operations of the aquatics facilities, policies and pool schedule for open swim, swim activities, swimming programs. Provides excellent skilled instruction, training, and strategies to achieve success. Assists in the maintenance of the pools, to include chemistry, climate control, cleanliness and related pool needs. Assist in maintenance and repair of aquatics facilities and equipment. Responsible for working with the Athletics Facilities & Operations Coordinator to ensure that the pool facility is clean and in good repair. This includes scheduling appropriate time for routine and deep cleaning as well as maintenance, both routine and preventative, of all pool systems. Limited other duties may be assigned.
Salary range of $55,000-$62,000. This position is FLSA exempt. After one year of employment, Western provides free tuition for dependents enrolled full time in undergraduate programs for up to four years.
