Tsunami Swimming seeks an experienced and passionate Head Coach to lead our USA Swimming competitive team and support our broader swim programs. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone committed to athlete development, both in performance and character.
About Us
Tsunami Swimming is a nonprofit, board-governed, head coach led swim team located in Fredericksburg, VA, serving 90+ team swimmers and over 300 program participants. Our mission is to foster a lifelong love of swimming in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coach swimmers of all levels, on-deck 6 days/week and present at meets
Plan, write, and lead seasonal and annual training plans, practices, and team development strategies for all groups
Oversee and mentor coaching staff and instructors across all programs
Support team operations: scheduling, parent communication, meet planning
Coordinate with the Board, pool staff, and volunteers on program needs
Attend and report at board meetings
Requirements
5+ years coaching experience; head coach experience preferred
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Current USA Swimming coaching certifications, or ability to obtain
Background check required
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 commensurate with experience
Annual COLA and potential for bonuses
Work related travel and certification expenses covered
