Job Summary:
We are the North-Stars swim team! We are looking to fill the spot of assistant head swim team coach at our Snellville practice location. With this position, we want this to be YOUR team. The more effort you put into building the team, the more you will be earning. You will work hand in hand with the head coach of this location help build the team and recruit kids as well as run practices with your other coaching staff.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Recruiting swimmers for the swim team
- Constructing workout plans and season goals for the team (in terms of swimmer progress goals and swim team growth goals)
- Communicate with parents on a regular basis about practices, swim meets, and any other matters
- Leading practices and designating groups and roles for your assistant coaches
- Setting up registration for swim meets
- Communicating with Regional Swim Team Director & Regional Swim Team Administrator about progress, questions, concerns, and anything else that may need to be communicated
- Providing a safe and fun environment for all kids
- Being a positive role model for the kids
- Create a welcoming and accepting environment for all the kids
- Attending and cheering at swim meets
- Keeping up to date with all certifications
- Being able to find the balance between challenging and fun/educational for practices
Requirements:
- Lifeguard Certification (within first 180 days of hire)
- BLS (CPR/AED/First Aid) Certification (within first 180 days of hire)
- USA Swimming Coach Certification (obtain as soon as hired if not obtained already)
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check
- Passion for the sport of swimming
- Prior coaching experience (minimum of 6-8 months)
- Being able to demonstrate legally all 4 strokes
- Previous knowledge of swim team practices and how the sport works on a USA Swimming level
- Positive attitude
- Good communication skills
- Good work ethic
- Reliable vehicle/form of transportation (public transportation will not be accepted for this role)
- Access to a smartphone
- Access to a laptop or computer of some sort (highly preferred)
- Good leadership skills
- Emotionally aware and able to demonstrate empathy toward others
Compensation:
- Pay periods of 1st-15th of the month and 16th-end of the month (paid out semi-monthly in payment groups on Fridays)
- Hourly rate of $20.00-$25.00 per hour depending on experience
- Separate hourly rate of $12.00 an hour for swim meets
- 2% gross profit share of all monthly payment swim team sales per month at your location (or $20.00 stipend if there is no gross profit)
- Mileage reimbursement for mobile inquiries
- Training reimbursement
