Associate Head coach

Position: Associate Head Coach
Swimming Organization: Memphis Thunder Aquatic Club
Location: Collierville, Tennessee
Start Date: August 2026 

Job Description:
As an Associate Head Coach of Thunder, you’ll be responsible for the development, implementation, support and advancement of all swim group athletes which includes their short- and long-term goals.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

1. The successful candidate must have a background in senior level coaching and development of swimmers. 

2. Current USA Swimming background check, CPR, First Aid, and Safety Training for Swimming Coaches certifications are required. College degree preferred. 

3. Dryland training experience.

4. ASCA certification level 2 or higher is desired. 

5. Workouts run in the evenings, during school, (4-7:30pm), Saturdays (7-9am) and occasional mornings. Summer practices run (7-10am) and some evenings (4-6pm) but subject to change. Meets approximately 1-2 times a month, including travel 4-6 times per year. Reimbursement for all travel meets and educational opportunities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. This qualified candidate will report directly to the Head Coach. 

2. Responsible for all aspects related to the planning, preparation, and implementation of a comprehensive training and teaching plan designed to motivate our athletes. 

3. Preparing meet entries, attend swim meets, and perform various administrative duties as assigned. 

4. Developing and maintaining positive relationships with parents, the board of directors, and USA swimming communities. 

5. Promote the team externally via social media platforms.

6. Communicate with YMCA leadership to build roster numbers at Bartlett site. 

7. Develop and execute roster growth and retention strategies.

COMPENSATION 

A competitive compensation package will be offered. Commensurate with experience.
